New Television Season is here - what you watching?
« on: October 11, 2013, 10:59:41 AM »
Well, the new TV season is here... I thought I'd ask what you're all watching? I've been watching the same shows for years (I'll list them in a second), but the biggest surprise for me this year has been how quickly The Mentalist has gone from being dull to unmissable!

Bones
Supernatural
Mentalist
Big Bang Theory
Criminal Minds
How I Met Your Mother
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D
The Ultimate Fighter

Your turn, people :)

Agents of SHIELD - yes

Also getting into Bates Motel (brilliant) and Sleepy Hollow (series premier was fantastic and hooked me from the start).

Supernatural is still another year away for the UK  :(

To have an idea is not enough - no matter how good the idea is.

I'm a season behind with How I Met Your Mother but have the DVD set of season 8 so I'll be watching that and will hopefully be ready for the UK airing of the final season.

The Big Bang Theory is a must!

That's it for me, my husband is watching Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Being in Australia we tend to get stuff after everyone else has seen it, although the networks here have started to slowly realise that if you deliver content within a day or two after it airs elsewhere it does cut down on the amount of people that download stuff, so we get some shows like that. Agents of SHIELD is one.
Sons of Anarchy is another. Just when you think that thing is running out of steam, they dial it up to 11.
A good local show is Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, although I think I only like that because the character of Dot is just to cute.
Revolution, largely to see what incredibly stupid thing Charlie can do this week and hoping that someone improves the show by removing her character from it.
There's a lot of other stuff, but those are the newer ones.
I will expand your TBR pile.

The Walking Dead? Anyone? I just got around to watching it last week whilst visiting a sick friend, all three seasons in a week. Season 4 soon.

Haha, I don't know how you can love Walking Dead and make fun of Charlie for making bad decisions. To me the whole show seems like every character is trying to see who can make a stupider decision this week than the dumbest person last week. (Here's a hint for the first two seasons: its probably going to be Shane)

Agents of SHIELD and Sleepy Hollow at the moment. The former has been disappointing so far, and as for the latter, it's a bit too early to say. The premise is a bit silly, but Tom Mison is certainly easy on the eye ;)

I'm way behind on Supernatural, as I missed the beginning of S8 on cable - but I have the S8 DVD boxed set on its way. Also working my way through the full boxed set of Stargate:Atlantis, as I missed it almost entirely when it first came out.

Apart from that, not much - I'm gearing up for a first draft of a new novel, which will be taking up a lot of my time and attention this winter!
Elizabethan fantasy trilogy The Alchemist of SoulsThe Merchant of Dreams and The Prince of Lies out now from Angry Robot Books!

Nobody for Legend of Korra? I'm loving that show! Last week's twist was great (not the final "memory" twist.. the twist that one of my favorite characters is playing a much longer game than he let on :p)

I'm watching Supernatural but I'm not 100% sold on it yet. I still wish
Spoiler for Hiden:
they'd closed the gates of Hell at the end of the last season. Stopping demons from killing 100s of people > 1 life
.

Also, if you like Bones, you should check out Elementary. That show has grown on me and by and large, the mysteries it presents are a cut above the average in actually being intelligent.

Another for the list, just found out season 2 of Revolution starts on Sky1 on Sunday after Karl Pilkinton: The Moaning Of Life.
