I'll start the comments: I haven't read Jim Butcher, but Mark is one of my favourite writers, so I had to vote for him ;D

Haven't read Butcher yet, but if I had, still probably an easy Lawrence, more for the style.
Slow and steady wins the race.

I enjoy Butcher, at least the Dresdens, but Lawrence leaves me cold, so Jim for the chocolates here.
I will expand your TBR pile.

Butcher for me, Lawrence endings are poor especially the Red Queen’s War.
According to some,* heroic deaths are admirable things

Mark Lawrence is a brilliant writer, but I agree with @Eclipse that his endings aren't the best.

Butcher has his moments, but the last few Dresdens were such a let-down for me that they outweigh the positives of the earlier books.

Overall I have to go with Lawrence.

Just looking back at that, I realise these are both authors I started off really loving, but have fallen out with after recent books.

Another hard pair. Have to give my loyalty to one of my all time favourites here, Jim Butcher,as Harry Dresden has given me on going enjoyment, including many re-reads. Not every book was perfect, but as whole it is a clever complex arc.  Mark is sure to survive this vote, knowing F-F. It will be equally well deserved and I may  well re-read The Red Queen's War in future.

Lawrence is overrated...like the broken Empire trilogy. The overt violence is novel and covers the lack of a strong plot and that abysmal ending to the series. Good book, but the hype around it is overrated.

Butcher has been mostly good (barring few average ones). Between Dresden, Codex Alera and Cinder Spires...he has vareity and count in his favour. I can't wait for the next book in Cinder Spires series.

Butcher by far.
