Fantasy-Faction Book Battles: Best Writer Bracket & Discussion
« on: October 16, 2018, 06:53:25 PM »
We're back! We have 32 best writers in this battle for you to have agonizing internal debates about.

The "Rules"
1) You cannot change your vote once you cast it so if you aren't sure then wait until you are sure.
2) If you have not read a series/book by this writer or if you do not have strong feelings for one of the writers, feel free to abstain from the battle.
3) Have fun, discuss, and maybe discover something new.

The bracket is listed below and use this thread for any general discussion. Sorry, I found a "bracket generator" online but I can't seem to be able to post it all here ::)

FINAL RESULT

The Bracket, Updated

Note that for pair it didn't take both writers into pair 20, but I will do that in the voting.

At the moment the polls don't have a deadline. I'm thinking about a week, but we'll see how many people have voted and then decide, right?

What do I do if the abstain wins?
Do I ignore that and go with the author with more votes, or eliminate both? Especially if there's a tie I plan to continue with both writers.

Abstaining is a choice not to vote, so should be discounted.

Thanks!

In the first 8 we have about 14 votes in each, in this latest 8 we still haven't got there, so I hope that people come here again and vote in all of them :)

One thing that is surprising in this is the number of authors that people haven't read (myself included). It really shows the spread of tastes around these parts rather than a top 20 shared by everyone.

It seems that one week for each round is the right time, so I'll move on some time tomorrow.

Oldies and Newbies still going head to head, this is very interesting!

(FYI, we're averaging 15 votes per poll, I think it's not so bad)
