How's everyone doing with them? These were mine.

World War Z (borrowed off nephew who is coming to stay in two weeks)
Zombie Survival Guide (as above)
Mistborn - The Final Empire (as I wasn't around in January)
Whatever the August book club book is
Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (Christmas present so should have read it by now!)

The two Max Brooks books were fab, really enjoyed them. I'm about 100 pages off finishing The Final Empire then I can finally start the August book.

My next 5 books after that will be:

Angel's Fury - Bryony Pearce   (A debut author, it's YA, I used to work with her husband).
Shawdowfall - James Clemens  (someone recommended it ages ago ...)
The September book club book
Red Seas under Red Skies - Scott Lynch
Fenrir - MD Lachlan

Shawdowfall - James Clemens  (someone recommended it ages ago ...)
The September book club cook
Red Seas under Red Skies - Scott Lynch
Fenrir - MD Lachlan

I'm almost finished Fenrir! If you liked Wolfsangel I think Fenrir is even better. :)

I always change my mind but so far it looks like:

The Steel Remains by Richard Morgan
Dreadnought by Cherie Priest
Green Rider by Kristen Britain
Last Werewolf by Glen Duncan
Perido Street Station by China Mieville

I have no clue what the next five books will be, as I have far too many to choose from, and zero time. Less than zero time. I only managed to read Assassin's Apprentice by keeping it in the bathroom and reading a page or two every time I went to the loo. Srsly.

Top contenders, though, are probably some of the epic pile of NewShinyThings that just arrived in the post: Among Thieves by Douglas Hulick, Of Blood and Honey by Stina Leicht, Prince of Thorns by the smashing Mark Lawrence, Hounded by Kevin Hearne, Nights of Villjamur by Mark Charan Newton, and nine bazillion Dresden Files off the shelves downstairs to refresh myself for the most recent four.

I may have to lay off the Bran Flakes for a while.

Cool! You must live fairly close to her then as she was only doing local ones. It's had good reviews, I'll let you know in a few weeks.

I went shopping today and I bought: Un Lun Dun by China Mieville and Windhaven by George RR Martin. Also have Black Halo and City of Ruins still unopened at home as well as a second hand copy of Windsingers by Megan Lindholm. And my mate will probably lend me Winters Heart soon, though Jordan is becoming a bit of an ordeal.

Wow. Nice lot of books. I'm a huge fan of both Un Lun Dun and Windhaven. I first read Windhaven in magazine format - purchased a huge stack of old Asimov's and Astoundings at a flea market. Read the first half of the story and loved it - then didn't have the second half in the set. Took me years to finish it.

Have you read much Megan Lindholm? I've only read Harpy's Flight which didn't have a lot of depth to it, I thought. I guess I was hoping for another Realm of the Elderlings epic ...

Well the Megan Lindholm I had is an omnibus of all three of the trilogy she wrote including Harpy's flight I believe. I only flicked through it but did seem a bit thin. I actually had most of Mieville's back catalogue to choose from, and was really torn between Scar and Un Lun Dun, (i have already read Kraken and Perdido Street Station) but decided to see what a YA by him would be like. Also had Left Hand of God and the Weeks trilogy  but decided against them.

My next five books:

A Local Habitation
An Artificial Night
Late Eclipses (all by Seanan McGuire)
The Help by Kathryn Stockett
And I think I might be due for a re-read of DEADLINE by Mira Grant. I haven't decided on number five yet, really. :P

I think I will do Winters Heart next, been told its the best of old Bob's later books, then will see what book club is, but will probably only join next month if the choice is one of my pile. Sounds spoilt, but got a big pile to read now! Mark Charan Newton I reckon will be a strong contender next time as he nearly won last time, and there is an interview with him up on the site just now. Just hope the choice is City of Ruins, not Nights of Villjamur or Book of Transformations. Windhaven though has got me very excited now!
