Are you trying to tell me there were tribal bicycles in Treasure Island? I know I read it a long time ago, but damn I didn't think my memory was that bad!

It was probably edited out, because of the Raleigh-Bicycle conspiration. It's said that it was mr. Bicycle (don't let 'em fool you, it's a real name) who started all of it.

Quote from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treasure_Island#Original_manuscript
Half of Stevenson's original manuscripts are lost, including those of Treasure Island, The Black Arrow and The Master of Ballantrae. Stevenson's heirs sold Stevenson's papers during World War I; many Stevenson documents were auctioned off in 1918.[31]
I think this strongly supports the Raleigh-Bicycle conspiration.

Actually, the bicycle was invented by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1604.  Unfortunately, when he tried to demonstrate it, he ran over James I's foot and was sent straight to the Tower.  Later, James offered him a pardon, conditional on travelling to the Amazon to find the mythical Golden Unicycle tribe, who'd mastered the art of riding their golden unicycles while reciting the text of dozens of 19th century novels that hadn't even been written yet.  Unfortunately, Raleigh failed to find them (see the word mythical above) and James was unimpressed with his gift of a quad bike.  This was the real reason why Raleigh was executed.

Check out this Amazon link:

And for the whole range:

They seem to have folded the classic book publishing line but they did really exist!

Oooooookay.  They do seem to have quite a few proper ones, but maybe that's just random luck.

I loved the Myth books when I was younger. Although I don't remember the covers being quite that tragic!

It doesn't look that bad, in my opinion, specially if it's supposed to be a comedy :$

Even as a kid, I knew this was a horrible book cover. Luckily, the story made up for it.

Just scrolling back, and noticed this one.......is that Chuck Norris!???

Also, haven't laughed so hard in a long while. Love this thread! :)
