It is Mat, and thats his Ashendarei  ;D

Sweet just wasn't very good at people, excellent and scenery and buildings though.

He also did good horses. His people always seemed strangely out of perspective.
There was also a Walter Velez cover on a Discworld book, Moving Pictures I think, Walter Velez was a good cover artist, but the marriage of Pratchett and Kirby was just perfect. I do like the Kidby covers, but Kirby's will always remain the best in my mind.

Whatever Sweet smoked, I want some!  I bet he would have given The Road a Mills and Boonstastic cover.

Both Kidby and Kirby were brilliant.  And yes, Sweet did do good horses, so begs the question, why not confine himself to doing covers for books about horses?

Can't even begin to fathom what scene from the book this is supposed to be....

In fairness, there are no fires of heaven in this book (I got quite annoyed about that), so the art isn't the only problem with the cover...
How about a free short story? You like free stuff, don't you?

Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar books would have been perfect for Sweet, they were mostly about the Companions. I gave my wife a Discworld calendar for Christmas which is all Kidby art and it's a lovely thing.
