Which books would you classify as forum favourites here?

It's been a while since we talked about a few of those

I think recommendations depend on time too - usually if we find a book we really love, we talk about it, isn't it normal? But then time passes, other books come, and we replace them, but some continue to make the lists because they're good.

How could you not mention Malazan? I even once joked that the group's pretty much Malazan Faction-Fantasy books discussion at this point.

Malazan gets  fair amount of love here too.

Especially after that twenty-greats-of-the-last-ten-years thread, I'd say RJB's City of Stairs should be on the list.

Ketty Jay is a series that is popular here but pretty much unheard of anywhere else I've been.

Really? It pops up in facebook sometimes. Probably because steampunk as a genre is still very niche.

Interesting point about Ketty Jay. I can see how it's a bit "out there" for a general fantasy-reading crowd, but we do like it lots around here!

I see it as more a case of authors than specific books. Examples are: Mark Lawrence, Steven Erikson, Brandon Sanderson, Robin Hobb, Terry Pratchett.
