Hmmm I don't think I've got "comfort books" per se. Rather, there are parts of a couple of books that I like to re-read to calm me down sometimes, just some scenes.
And it's more "comfort for a few minutes" rather than stopping reading the current book to go to this comfort one.
At home in the Fantasy Faction forum!

I'm "She Who Reigns Over Us All In Crimson Cheer", according to Peat!

Definitely Harry Potter (the first two books, well maybe also the third). I read the first two books as a buffer after reading the first book of the Powder Mage trilogy, which is very militaristic and kind of grim in some parts. The different flavors blended very well, I think.

Pratchett, like any of them but mostly Watch or Rincewind.
Douglas Adams, Hitchhikers
Rachel Aaron, Heartstrikers
Naomi Novik, Temeraire
Heide Goody & Iain Grant, Clovenhoof (and their standalone ones)

The early Moomin books by Tove Jansson never fail to please.
