A Dance of Cloaks - David Dalglish - This one I bought after reading the sample, which I used to have time to do back then when I had hardly any books. For some reason I never continued with it. I have since also picked up the trilogy omnibus, for less money than just this one volume. Ah well. I might learn one day.

The Gathering Storm - Brandon Sanderson & Robert Jordan - Another bad one. A series I've been reading since about 1994. I was wary of someone else taking up the reins after Jordan's death, but I should probably get on with it, really.

Dalglish's stories are solid but simple in my opinion. Fun, but very much popcorn fantasy.

Seconded. Least the first four are.

Wheel of Time. It actually became even more buried. I put Malazon above it now.

Also Wheel of Time, at least the last few books. Think I read up to but haven't read any of the Sandersons. It was the series that got me into reading fantasy, been on my list for 10-15 years, one of my all-time favorites, and yet I still haven't finished it. :-[

Looking at all the new books I'm having right now (and will be having in) It maybe quite a while before I can get to reading Harry Potter or historical fiction stories by Bernard Cornwell. Let's see what the future holds...  8)

(post 3 in the Team Challenge ;) )

The book I've got at home unread the longest is Elizabeth Moon's The deed of Paksenarrion, which Peat gave to me a couple of years ago and I seem to never get round to reading, as there are always other books I want to read more...

(sorry, charity shop which would have received the book if he hadn't given it to me!)

I never add books to wishlist so I'm not sure how long I waited most for a book but I think it was WoT. It must be couple of years between I decided to read and actually started :)

Kallor shrugged. 'I've walked this land when the T'lan Imass were but children. I've commanded armies a hundred thousand strong. I've spread the fire of my wrath across entire continents, and sat alone upon tall thrones. Do you grasp the meaning of this?'

'Yes' said Caladan Brood. 'You never learn'

Wheel of Time, too. The first book's been on my kindle for about 4 years, and I've never managed beyond about the fourth chapter.

My longest-standing paid but unread kindle books, all from 2011, are:

Declare - Tim Powers - Meant to be really good. I just picked it up because it was a bargain (schoolboy error) and haven't got round to it yet.

A Dance of Cloaks - David Dalglish - This one I bought after reading the sample, which I used to have time to do back then when I had hardly any books. For some reason I never continued with it. I have since also picked up the trilogy omnibus, for less money than just this one volume. Ah well. I might learn one day.

The Crown of the Blood - Gav Thorpe - Another random bargain. I don't really know much about it.

Dragon Keeper - Robin Hobb - Yeah, quite a bad one, this. I still haven't read the Rain Wilds quartet, although I have bought the other three books, and one of the new set.

The Gathering Storm - Brandon Sanderson & Robert Jordan - Another bad one. A series I've been reading since about 1994. I was wary of someone else taking up the reins after Jordan's death, but I should probably get on with it, really.
2019 Update: I still haven't read any of these. I guess I don't have too much inclination to read the Thorpe or Dalglish, but I do feel a bit guilty about the other three occasionally.

I don't count books I haven't bought yet as being on my tbr, so the book that's been on mine the longest is probably Children of Ruin or The Hanging Tree, both of which have been there about a month or two.
