Just finished Prince Of Fools by Mark Lawrence which is brilliant, now reading Rogues an anthology edited by George RR Martin and Hive Monkey by Gareth L Powell

I had a bit of a fantasy-break bookwise, and a dud, but now I'm reading Elspeth Cooper's volume 2, Trinity Rising.

I finished King Rat with the book club. Was OK. Loved some aspects of it. Found some other aspects of it rather meh.

Almost done with Tower Lord, also started Traitor's Blade which is really fun and entertaining from the little bit I've read so far.

Just finished King of Thorns. Great ending. Think I'll finish Count of Monte Cristo before moving on to Emperor of Thorns.

To be honest, I'm a bit underwhelmed with 2. You normally read after 1 to immerse yourself deeper into the story and the characters, but after 150 odd pages this feels like a completely new book, bar the odd reference to events in 1 - I know you're learning about what came before/during, but I'm not enjoying it much, maybe it's simply the wrong time for it...

Yeah, I think I thought the same in the beginning but if I remember right, it gets better in the second half and the third should bring all the story lines together. :)

In the style of some great political turnarounds...i am going to drop what i am reading at the moment (Malice it was a re read) and begin re reading the Broken Empire trilogy in preparation for something..onwards with Prince of Thorns.

I've just started Dark Current, the first of Jacqueline Carey's Agent of Hel urban fantasy series. It's my first Carey (I never got around to reading Kushiel) and it's started off very promisingly.

On my trip to DC, I finished Mark Lawrence's King of Thorns. Amazing is an understatement.

Thinking about jumping into the sequel, or perhaps the book club.
