Why would you do that?

Just kidding, welcome to the forums! ;)

I'm reading the Eyre Affair by Fforde and rereading Homeward Bounders by DW Jones.

Fantastic! Hope you enjoy it as much as I do. :)

Not read more than 3 pages in the past week and a half. But tomorrow I will get back with it! 9 hour flight with nothing to do but read!  ;D Will likely work on finishing NOS4A2. After that, Whitefire Crossing

I've seen a lot of people get a bit annoyed by Kvothe's sheer 'awesomeness' and I have to admit that bugged me too. I was very 'meh' about The Name of the Wind. This may have been because I read it soon after reading The Lies of Locke Lamora and for me there's just simply no comparison. I haven't read Wise Man's Fear, yet, but may do that when the final book of the trilogy is out. The Name of the Wind may impress me more on a reread.

I enjoyed The Name of thw Wind apart from that bit with Denna and the whole mystery surrounding the wedding bit... it just felt like a Scooby Doo mystery, I was waiting for them to pull the mask off of Groundskeeper Bob and "I would have got away with it...".

Currently reading Wise Man's Fear... about 25% of the way in and nothing much has happened, at least nothing much that wasn't already happening in NotW. Still enjoyable but very slow so far.

Finished Republic of Thieves by Scott Lynch. The hype is justified.  8)

That's just mean! I want to read it!!!

Jammy! Can't wait for that :D

I just finished my re-read of Men at Arms (glorious, of course) and now on to the slightly different The Virgin Suicides.

Once you read WMF see if you agree with Pornokitsch's review or not http://www.pornokitsch.com/2011/06/new-releases-the-wise-mans-fear-by-patrick-rothfuss.html

I agree, but I still loved it. I quite liked that I was gripped despite the plot more-or-less going nowhere. I think the trouble with Kingkiller is the trilogy plays out as a beginning, a middle, and an end. Wise Man's Fear being 'the middle'. Worked for some, didn't for others.

I "finished" Unfettered. Which is to say I read a little more than half the stories in it and realized I simply didn't care about the rest.  :D
But the ones I did read were nice.

Up next: I'm totally ignoring my most recent "Next Five Books" list in favor of finally getting around to Retribution Falls, which I originally bought for the March book club and then flaked out on it.

I finished The Name of the Wind yesterday, loved it! Have started Wise man's Fear now...and am already 250+ pages into it after almost 4 hours of continuous reading.

I have sensed a few people here don't like these books that much...why is that? Just looking for a different POV, because I am loving them quite a bit.

Kvothe is the best at everything he does. He gets everything he wants minus one girl. Every setback is spun into a later, greater success, often in the very next chapter. This should have been unbearable but Patrick Rothfuss is an incredible writer and almost pulls it off without you noticing.
This is based only on The Name of the Wind. I'm also waiting to read Wise Man's Fear once the third book is out.
My debut fantasy novel, Valkwitch, is now released in ebook form! Neato!
You can find more info and the first two chapters Here.

The Coldest War by Ian Tregellis in print. About time I got around to reading Book 2, really enjoyed Book 1. Digital wise, I'm reading Three by Jay Posey. Both are pretty good so far.

Next is Herald of the Storm by Richard Ford and The Woken Gods by Gwenda Bond, Print & digital respectively.

I'm reading Exile by Betsy Dornbusch...or at least trying to.  I think it's the most baffling book I've ever chewed through, like maybe the editor went a bit nuts and cut out everything that would explain what's going on.

The entire Milkweed triptych is brilliant, but The Coldest War was exceptional. Thoroughly enjoying Vicki Pettersson's Taken, a little like CSI with the rockabilly subculture and angels.

Picked up The Way of Kings hardcover for just a dollar at my local used book store. Going to start that as soon as I finish Game of Thrones and The Blade Itself.

Yep, my eyes lit up when I saw it. There I was window shopping and checking through books, lots of old fantasy books from the 80's, and then The Way of Kings. I took it to the register a second later.
