I'd also recommend Casey Glanders' "Gailsone" series,

Finished Book 1 "Big in Japan". Loved it. The female lead is so refreshing with none of the usual romantic tropes attached. Probably one of the best female characters in SFF.

Off to read the next in series!x

Nice recommendation! I checked it out and it looks cool, so I picked it up.

Don't skip the novellas in the 'Gailsone' series!

Well, Cage of Souls turned out to be the weirdest, most depressing book I've ever read. Absolutely brilliant, 5/5, but I need a pick-me-up read after that.

I'm now reading Poison Song, the last book of Jen Williams' latest trilogy :D

(I could really use a short summary in the beginning of the book :'()

I finished Ritualist by Dakota Krout last night. It's an enjoyable light LitRPG. The writing's kind of workmanlike, but I liked the story. I'll be reading the second part.

Next is The Stone Sky by N K Jemisin. I've been thinking of signing up to vote in this year's Hugo Awards, and realised I still had last year's winner to catch up on.

About halfway through Moon Over Soho and not impressed with Peter's lack of professionalism.

Spoiler for Hiden:
So far he's had sex with one of the main suspects and got his dad a gig in the jazz club where performers keep dying. As well as being wildly unprofessional, the latter just seems incredibly stupid. I'm also concerned that peter Grant is going to be one of those urban fantasy detectives who is both irresistible to and yet useless with women. Naming no Dresdens, of course.  ::)

Still reading the phenomenal Foundryside. Because it's so big, I reread the pocket version of Good Omens in between. Light and funny read at the beach. :)

Finished the Gailsone trilogy (not the novellas) and it was amazing. The second book was the weakest of the lot but the third made up for the lag. Disappointed that there is one more book yet to come. Can't wait to get this finished.

8/10. Second book gets a 6/10.

Oh, and I'm reading Genevieve Cogman's The Invisible Library at the moment. Very promising start. Anybody who read the trilogy?

Oh you'll have to let me know! I might be mistaking that for another book, but I have the feeling that Arry read it and didn't like it very much.

I read it when it first came out and didn’t like it.
