Just got copies of The Desert Spear by Peter V. Brett and The Magician's Guild by Trudi Canavan not sure which I'll dive into first.

Finished Blackdog, by KV Johansen.  Yum.
Finished Forever War], by Joe Haldeman.  Awesome.  Interesting treatment of homosexuality, especially when you consider it was written in the mid 70's.

Not sure what to crack open next.

VERY slowly reading Retribution Falls (at work) and enjoying it. Narrative is very fluid and it feels kind of like Pirates of the Caribbean in the air ;)

While I've been away, I read Doug Hulick's Among Thieves and the first two books of Peter V. Brett's Demon Cycle, plus his novella Brayan's Gold.  I also read Stephen Lawhead's Tuck, which was a very good conclusion to his Robin Hood retelling.

Right now, working on Michael Swanwick's Jack Faust.

Hopefully I will be starting on Brian Ruckley's newest book The Edinburgh Dead tomorrow. I say hopefully because the bookstore I go to is really iffy.  I ask if they have a book they say no but we can order it and you can pick it up in 2 weeks.  I say no, I can order it myself and get it in 3 to 5 days.

I have made a start on Mistborn 3 at home, Retribution Falls at work. Quite enjoying both...

Not sure I like Eland's transformation in book 3 (all I can say without spoilers) too much, too quickly I would say.

Just finished up Rosemary and Rue and A Local Habitation by Seanan McGuire; reviews sent to the Overlord and everything! :P

I just picked up Terry Goodkind's The Omen Machine yesterday; about 75 pages through it, already. There will, more than likely, be a review for that once I finish. After that, it's off to finish the rest of the McGuire books I currently have on loan. :)

Just read New Spring as a graphic novel. All of Jordan's novels should be adapted into the comic book format, much more readable. Though bizarrely the artist changed for the last volume with disastrous results. Now into Winter's Heart. Has started well, all politics so far, but centred on advancing existing plot lines rather than introducing new ones.

About 100+ pages through Mistborn now... I think it is clever what Brandon Sanderson has done with certain characters and too much of a change with others. Looking forward to seeing how things progress though, still 6/7's of the book to go ;)

Just started Peter Orullian's The Unremembered, and am thus far intrigued and happy to have some real, classic fantasy for a change. I don't give a jot if this sort of thing has been done to death; it's shaping up to make a damn good read!

I expect to like it, as I'm well overdue for some so-very-almost-cliche, classic fantasy. I'm a fan of new and classic, so...! We'll see! :) I am only 30-odd pages in, but it's very classic-era so far.

Nowt wrong with some classic fantasy provided its well written with characters you can root for. I more dislike Brooks for having cardboard cut out characters than being so cliche.

Bad weekend for me reading wise... Girlfriend hogged me throughout it all and hardly had chance to pick up either Mistborn or Retribution falls... hoping to finish off both during the week though :)
