You've still got The Meerkat and the Giraffe to read.

Nice to see you back on Form

Finished King of Ashes. Good start for a series where you immediately want to read the next volume.
Sometimes it was a bit much introspection but overall a solid and enjoyable book, an interesting world and only a tiny bit of magic, with the promise of more to come.

Now back to Foundryside!

I finished The Gods of Men by Barbara Kloss yesterday. This is riding high in the current SPFBO. It was not bad. It had a few problems, but the story was enough to carry it through. My next SPFBO book is going to be Fantasy Faction's choice, Ruthless Magic by Megan Crewe, but not just yet.

First I'm going to read Twenty Trillion Leagues Under the Sea by Adam Roberts, which I've borrowed from the library. I wanted to read the paper version of this because it's heavily illustrated by Mahendra Singh, so I was quite pleased to find it in my local library.

The Three Body Problem

One of the best, most mind-bedning series out there. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

I recently finished War in the Dark, which is a noirish urban fantasy about demons in the Cold War. A step away from my usual reading, but great stuff.

I quite liked that. It had a Ian Tregillis' Milkweed feel to it. I'll be looking out for the sequel.
I will expand your TBR pile.

Finished the three Legion short stories by Brandon Sanderson (which is amazing as always). Started Powermage trilogy by Brian McClellan and it's already off to a great start!  :D

Finished Twenty Trillion Leagues Under the Sea yesterday. It's kind of fun and over-the-top, but I didn't get the ending at all.

I've moved on to The Black Cauldron by Lloyd Alexander, the second Prydain book. It's not that long since I read the first, but I don't seem to have taken much in, since I'm not remembering the things it assumes I remember.

Fid's Crusade by David H Reiss. Picked it after the thread in small/self published section.

Loving it. It's like a mix of Iron Man, Despicable Me and The Incredibles rolled into one.

Will post a full review once I'm done.

Just read Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief as we are doing it in class, and needed to now what happens to plan lessons for it!  Great fun though.  Can see why it was such a phenomenon.
