I'm with Rostum!

Bender, you call it 'smut' because it's got kissing? :o How old are you? 100?

And you can't imagine young girls doing all that? What are you reading, historical fiction? And have you seen the Gymnastics World Championships? Can you imagine those young girls doing that?

Edit: I realise the above sounds very strong, sorry I don't mean it in a bad way, just an "unbelievable" way

Perhaps smut was too strong and not the right word. But point still stands.

Nona was 9 in Red Sister (or she claims to be. Think she's actually 8 years old). Grey happens 2 years later making her 10 or 11. Bound looks to be happening immediately after Gray Sister making her about 12'ish at best.

I've watched my share of teen romances (mostly of vampire/werewolf kind) with my niece but felt this was too young even for that.

Anyway, good story....just a personal opinion.

No worries - but they're around 15 in Grey Sister / Bound: they're graduating in Holy Sister at 17-18 and it takes place "3 years later" the end of Grey.

Finished Before They are Hanged. 4.5 stars, although I felt somewhat off with the culmination of disappointments in the ending of all the three POVs. (althought it was quite a  good subversion of the usual trope) The main points that I loved about this book (Glokta besieged in Dagoska, Bayaz's Fellowship of the Stone, and West's trek with the Northmen), all have come to an end in this book, though, so I'm not sure what I will be looking forward to in book 3. Hope the story concludes well!

Finished Ravencry by Ed mcDonald. A competent middle book that advances the tale. I believe the 3rd one is  out soon.

I finished Level Up by Craig Anderson. It was fine. Moderately amusing. Kind of light.

In what should be a big contrast, I've moved on to Bring up the Bodies by Hilary Mantel, the second Wolf Hall book, which I've been meaning to read for a couple of years. This should see me into April and the new Reddit Bingo card.

I made it halfway through The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch by Philip K. Dick before putting it down. Wasn't getting the story at all. Picked up Good Omens - I've been in a Gaiman / Pratchett vibe for a few days now, this seems like a sensible choice.

Thanks!

I finished Holy Sister last night, and wow. Just wow :D

You all know my feelings about "Red Sister" the first time I read it, that it was just a good book, but that's because I was heavily skewered by Mark's previous 2 trilogies, and what he did with this one, particularly in the first book, was very much different.
Re-reading it now, 2 years later, followed by the other 2 books, completely revised my opinion, and this is very much a superb trilogy in its own right.
And yes, I did see echoes of Broken Empire in these last 2 books, especially the last one, so please trust me and if you shared my opinion on Red Sister, go ahead and re-read it, and the others, now!

After reading a few murder mystery novels, I'm back into fantasy with Dust of Wonderland by Lee Thomas.
