  • OH WOW! JUST WORKED OUT HOW TO DO THIS!!!!!
Right away we start with a shocking scene = the 'rape' of Gabbie, thank god she forgets the incident because of the faerie magic and she can still develop her relationship with Jack.  Then there's Mark's terrifying experience in the woods - all before the end of August.  What a month!  Then the macabre find in the basement in September, and the poor cat!  Deaths of animals always upset me!  Why do the evil powers want them to find the secret room with all it's secrets in the basement so badly?  What has been going on!

Though the creepiest scene for me was all the faerie people coming out to drink the milk!  Guess because it's a myth many of us have grown up with, and it's a creepy thought that faerie folk might actually be drinking the milk!  Though slightly lessened the threat of the black spider creature now that I know it likes milk!

Oh! If we're listing creepy/disturbing things, let's add the elf shot arrow in Jack's shoulder that dug its way into Mark's hand. *shudder*

I actually never heard of this until it referenced in some other book I read in the past year or two (can't remember which one, but just remember thinking it was very strange.

At this point ... you really have to wonder what the basement room was all about?? And what may be unearthed there.
