Really gutted i missed this one :) Hopefully, the pornokitsch event will be as successful. Well done everyone. And Chase...don't worry, I would probably have done exactly the same thing as you, when i'm a bit nervous/excited I can get a bit messy as well :) You having any "did I really do that?" flashbacks yet? haha. Sorry I'm going to miss you in London. You're heading back to Australia soon right? I would have paid money to hear a drunken conversation between you and Lor in Japanese :)

Pete tweeted me with ' Did you ever remember your 6th question? ' apparently I interrogated him but I can't remember any of the answers... or the questions. Hopefully someone else does? There is also quite a few photos of me with Peter albeit no flash, he looks a little scared :P

Did I really do that moment was definitely on the way home but nobody saw that so it is all good. Although apparently I tried to chat up Sarah Pinborough but at the time I thought she was Joe's girlfriend. I don't think I made a good impression on Joe :P

The best moment is seeing an absolute legendary photo on my camera ( which I didn't lose! ) of Myke Cole and I. That guy is my hero. It wasn't that I was nervous, I had seen far too many beers for that.

Hierath - you Too, one more time thanks for the awesome chat.

Laura - keep away from my damn shoelaces ;)

Myself, Nick (Preden?) and Nestat all walked to the nearest Tube station with Chase. Not sure if you remember it Chase, but it was an interesting experience. Nestat will probably agree with me.

He really is a hero. I've never met anyone (author or otherwise) who is as down-to-earth as Myke. It was nice to see him actively mingling with everyone there. Great guy.

You actually still have those shoes? By the end of Friday they were more like socks.  :D

Chase may find if he keeps being cheeky to me that he has trouble getting past UK Border control if he ever comes back...;)

So, so glad you all enjoyed yourselves. Whenever you hold these kinds of events you worry: no one will turn up, you have chosen the wrong questions, you will freeze-up during the interview or upset the authors... Literally, it has been 6 months (yes, this was 6 months in the making) of panic, excitement, worry and fear.

However, the moment I met up with Joe, Peter, and Myke and heard how excited they were - I began to relax. Then, I arrive at Blackwell's Bookshop and see around 100 people packed into the place and I just couldn't believe we'd done it.

I just want to say thank you so much to all of you. Whether you came from London, Scotland or even Germany - you made my day, week, month, year, life! I started this blog at around 4am one not-special morning and the idea that even a couple of people may one day read my reviews seemed laughable. So, that moment, sitting next to Joe, Peter and Myke with 100 eyes on me (and Paul) was a completely surreal, but gave me a immense feeling of pride - one I never thought I'd be privileged enouth to experience - and that's down to you lot :) You made it all possible and successful.

Its a doable list.  Obviously my dream would be Terry Pratchett, George RR Martin and Robin Hobb, but you have to be realistic about these things!

Also I think 3 is perfect, anymore and its not fair on the writers as they won't get the time to speak.

If you're dreaming, can't you get bigger than that?  Mine would be Homer, Shakespeare and Tolkien 8)

At the risk of being the ranty feminist, do you think we could get some women in the mix next time? Some of us do write fantasy that isn't paranormal romance, you know? :)

I know, I know, most of the big names in fantasy are guys, but it's a vicious circle. Yes, books by men sell better, but IMHO that has little to do with the quality of the writing - it's all about the oxygen of publicity, and it's well documented that male writers get the lion's share of that. I appreciate that Blackwells want big names to draw the crowds, but if every event is all male authors, what does that say about Fantasy Faction?

(N.B. I'm not pitching to get invited - just raising a point :) )

Pornokitsch's event at the Free Word in September has Lauren Beukes as one of the panelists. As it was the FF's first event, it's a bit hard to say anything about this subject right now, but is obviously something that should be kept in mind.
