but the number of punters present last night equates to the sizeable population of a small village struggling with inbreeding on the border where the New Forest meets civilization.

There was inbreeding going on?  I missed that bit 8)

I... seventh? eighth? (lost count) the thanks and congratulations.  It was a great evening.  One possibility for the next event, though, would be if we all displayed our FF IDs somewhere about our persons - I met some of you, but I'm sure I walked straight past some of the people I know here.

I more or less agree with LeifOnMars, though I probably wouldn't be so extreme in talking about ignorance.  It's certainly true that moral ambiguity has a long history in fantasy - most of Cabell's heroes in the 1910s & 20s were antiheroes, and there were certainly authors in the 60s and 70s, such as Moorcock, Wagner and Donaldson, who were anything but bright and shining.

Sounds like LeifonMars grew up not far from where I did... ;)

i agree. It was a shame i didn't really get to talk to many of the faction crew. Spent all night catching up with friends. Next time i'm going to have to make a better effort though.

Next event i'll buy everyone a shot of tequila.

At least Lor managed to find me at the Dickens while I was wandering around thinking 'I can recognise Anne, where is she?' and feeling perplexed! I knew the purple hair was a good plan.

Nice to meet you all, those I did meet anyway!

My tongue has been in my cheek for so long, I've eroded a new mouth.

.

Actually I nearly did. I got a pic of my avi printed but didn't get time to make a badge/pin. I bet I wandered past everyone at least twice, lol. Never mind, I'm sure there will be a next time :)

Nestat - Things are a little fuzzy, I'm sorry if I did or said anything to offend you. I hope that if we meet again I make a better impression.

Lor - Thanks for some solid organising, really enjoyed the Dungeon and the Tower! I never got to try one of your cup cakes though :( and did I really try to chat up Sarah and if I did was I making any headway?

Idlewild - Sorry dude, googled it Idlewild - American English Had a great first night with Nick and you, and day 2 was awesome as well.

Nick - Not sure what your username is but hope you find your levi's! Great meeting you.

Anne Lyle - Best Tower of London guide ever. Loved the personalised message and really look forward to reading The Alchemist of Souls.

Noona - Hope you made your train all right, thanks for meeting us for the Tower of London!

Hound - I was as stunned as you were, I had tears in my eyes! Don't worry she stepped on my shoelace all day as well.

Everyone - I admit I had slightly a little more to drink then I should have, I was a little over excited. I apologise to everyone for my antics. Secondly thanks to everyone, I had a great time and this is definitely the highlight of my year in Europe. Hope one day you can make it to Australia and look forward to seeing you all again when you do. Thanks to everyone who helped organise and to the authors for a great panel and a great chat at the phoenix.

Fuzzy? But you seemed so sober!

Offence is taken, not given - especially when alcohol is flowing! So **EDIT** NO **EDIT** offence, but plenty of fun. Get back to the UK soon!

Really gutted i missed this one :) Hopefully, the pornokitsch event will be as successful. Well done everyone. And Chase...don't worry, I would probably have done exactly the same thing as you, when i'm a bit nervous/excited I can get a bit messy as well :) You having any "did I really do that?" flashbacks yet? haha. Sorry I'm going to miss you in London. You're heading back to Australia soon right? I would have paid money to hear a drunken conversation between you and Lor in Japanese :)

Chase - you were sweet and funny and interesting, if a little bleary, and I would have loved to have stayed and chatted longer, not just with you but with everyone...  Course, I'm holding you to the pint you owe me when I get to Australia! :D

Such an amazing event - well done guys! Just... spectacular! I'm afraid that I got there late (karma: I was probably the closest person *to* the event, and got trapped at work) and then didn't make it to the pub (double karma: clever plan to get food before drinking wound up with SLOWEST SERVICE IN THE WORLD). But glad I got to see some of you, and eat half of Lor's amazing cupcakes.

We really do need enormous FF hats or something, so I can recognise everyone and say hi...

Jared, next time I'm in London I'm hunting you down for a proper chat :)
