I don't think I'd ever found a book with a character that I can identify as being on the autism spectrum.
John Gwynne's A Time of Dread has got Drem, and he's just so well written, I love reading his chapters!

The cover is quite pretty, unfortunately for me the book didn't quite live up to its packaging and it became a DNF.
I will expand your TBR pile.

FYI, if anyone in the UK wants to buy Aliette de Bodard's In the Vanishers' Palace, you can now get it with free delivery!
It was at £9.99, just 1 penny short of the free delivery, so I asked her if she could change the price and make it £10: this way she gets an extra p and we save £2.98 in delivery costs, hehe

(yes, you could add another book, but I didn't want to buy another one from them....)

Not sure if it's me or anything, but I've ran across a boatload of DNFs and disappointments in both books and tv shows lately (mostly books). I'm feeling pretty apprehensive about trying anything new, and do hope that things will get better from here.

Am I having a reading slump?  ???

Inky, I think it might also be linked to all the issues you're having in your real life.
I've noticed in the past that sometimes my problems do interfere with my reading, and a book that I might have enjoyed at any other time, I don't like or did not finish...

Try re-reading books that you enjoyed the first time, sort of "comfort reading" for a while.

It hapoens, Inky. In some cases its influenced by real life issues and also tastes change. I've tried to reread stuff I'd liked in the past and foubd that I no longer do, or I foubd flaws I never saw befors.

Thanks, guys! At least I've got Elantris with me right now, and from the author it should definitely be good. I'm going to start buying only the first book of trilogies/ series from now on though, hahahh.  :D
