Am I the only person here who really enjoyed this one?

I enjoyed it! I just didn't think it was worthy of the "Will be the Best Book of 2014" hype it was getting (also felt that was setting an unfair bar for the book). I loved the second one! :)

I don't think I'd so far as to say it was the best book of 2014. One of the best debuts, yes. But there were a lot of great books this year.

And I'm am finding the book entertaining.
But so far my 4-word critique would be "Princes/ess do tedious things".
I hope it picks up soon.

It was fine.

Hardly a glowing review, but did I enjoy it? Yes.

Did I like it enough to spend £7 quid on the second one in the Kindle store? No.

Story has picked up, and I am enjoying it. But not nearly a favorite.

The second one is much better, I think he definitely worked out some of the weaknesses that the first one presented. I honestly had some reservations about the series after the first. But since I thought it was a fun read, decided to give the second a chance. I will definitely be reading the third now.

I really enjoyed both of them.
I didn't really mind the Kent kissing either and I'm listening to the audible version, which has a great narrater.
Funny though I'm currently re reading the daylight war by peter v brett (great book) but it does annoy me when renna says "llove you arlen bales" every time she talks to him.
And although it gets to me I can see how young lovers can be overly sickly to each other.
And it's the same for the Kent kissing characters of these books. How many kids do you come across that say "d'ya get me" every two seconds or "right" after every sentence.

Your probably right that this isn't the best book of the year,
But it was one I was glad to see this year

Loved the first pne, just ordered the second one. My only gripebis the amount of times Kent kissing was used. Otherwise awesome book.

I'm sort of updating on my mood abiut the book as I go: I'm deep in the exciting stuff now, with some nice twists, but one big really? did they need such a complicated way to go about that? Enjoying. I'll buy the second book on recorded version, too. Fun for the commute.
