Top list!  ;D

Small note: Sebastian is a main character, so he appears in all three of the Copper Cat books, not just the first one. ;)

Offline Rostum

SM Stirling

Lesbian Black coastguard captain and her Celtic Partner in the Island in the sea of Time trilogy as the protags.

Lesbian ninja asassin x2 in the Emberverse series one becoming GrandMarshal of the protectorate forces and incidental gay knights etc throughout the series. However the most interesting relationship is between two teen girls whose lives would be so much simpler if they were gay. Oh and a society who is pretty much ambivilent about anyones sexuality with no religious moors to get in the way of anyone falling into bed with whom they choose.

Thank you for putting that long list together, Eclipse.

A Gathering of Shadows by V E Schwab introduces a previously unknown gay relationship, which existed in A Darker Shade of Magic but was not apparent. It would be a spoiler if I named the characters, but becomes clear once you know, and will have great effect for future in series.
“This is the problem with even lesser demons. They come to your doorstep in velvet coats and polished shoes. They tip their hats and smile and demonstrate good table manners. They never show you their tails.”
Leigh Bardugo, The Language of Thorns: Midnight Tales and Dangerous Magic

Offline Peat

David Gemmell's Quest for Lost Heroes features a gay couple.

(Do people want to know which particular sexuality the characters are/whether they're main, supporting, villain?)

Eclipse, I suggest you remove The Faithful and the Fallen series from your list.

I believe I was the one who mentioned it, and what I said was actually
(...) write such a close 'friendship' that the reader can read more into it if they want.
I'm thinking of two specific examples in books read recently: Nathair and Veradis, in Faithful and the Fallen (John Gwynne), and Cayden and Mieka in Glass Thorns (Melanie Rawn). I see them as being in love but not really knowing or realising, maybe someone else will just see good friends.

Another series:

The Hollow Gods, by Rebecca Levene

I've only read book 1, and got book 2 now with me to read, but one of the main characters is gay and another's bi.

A sticky would certainly be great.

And the list should definitely include The Sorcerer of the Wildeeps by Kai Ashante Wilson.

And... are we only doing epic/world fantasy, or urban fantasy too? If urban, then we should include the Shadow Police series by Paul Cornell: London Falling, The Severed Streets, and the forthcoming Who Killed Sherlock Holmes?

Hollow World by Michael Sullivan -  it is Sci-Fi/time travel, but that shouldn't discount it.
