I think publishers love to publish new books either before Christmas (presents and cold outside) or in January/February (New year, still cold outside). So that probably is the best season to read buy new books. ;)

This. Although my country is tropic and doesn't have snows or anything, the thought of sitting cozy in your own house reading a novel is just pure bliss.  ;)

I would say that winter would probably be a good time for reading in general. There's no feeling quite like curling up in your blankets on a cold day and reading.
