Is Tar Valon a vagina?

I know it sounds crude, but I wouldn't have posted it if I didn't think there was some merit to it:

A bit of subtle mischief from Jordan and his mapmaking cronies, or intentional symbolism?

Surely it was intentional... There is no way that a whole office missed that...

The round towers* at either end of the island are... appropriately placed... and everything, so that the imagery remains even if you turn the pic upside down. He really wanted that image planted, didn't he?

* They are towers, right? I haven't read much Jordan, so they could be sports stadia, sluice gates (possibly jade ones, judging from the shape of the island), municipal dumps or factories for the construction of humongous mecha and robot dinosaurs, for all I know.
I am NOT short. I'm further away than I look.

Fantasy is full of sexual imagery - how else do you explain dark lords living in high towers protuding from shrubbery in the ground?  Small penis complex clearly.

If you are getting really sick minded though - how about those wizards leading young boys off on quests?  Camping out under the stars, huddled together for warmth at night ....(okay, that's me banned!)

I think they might be ports.

So maybe the mapmaker/author was trying to include something symbolic. Maybe it was a joke.

Since I haven't read the novel I don't know anything about the plot or why that particular shape might have been chosen. But...

There's a similar island in the second of P.C. Hodgell's Kencryrath series, Dark of Moon. I can't find my copy of the book right now, to look at the map, but part of the book took part on an island in the middle of a river. Erosion is going to produce a shape like that naturally. Go look at maps of river islands, and you'll see what I mean.

Here's an example of a 'vagina' in real life in the Saint Lawrence. I used to go fishing a lot with my dad when I was a kid, and we saw a lot of islands like that in Ontario rivers. Yes, this one is a bit too even, but it's not unusual.

Oh yes it definitely is isn't it?

Fits in with my idea that the whole WoT is a massive romantic drama disguised as fantasy http://www.iamcurrentlyreading.co.uk/2011/02/22/the-wheel-of-time-is-a-romantic-drama-masquerading-as-fantasy/ :D

I'm tempted to say no it's not a vagina at all but it is populated with....

It's either a vagina or one of those things from dead space that spits things out at you and to kill them you have to cut off all the arms protruding from the middle =P

Those are Harbors @ the top and bottom of the island of Tar Valon. The White Tower is actually @ the center of the island w/ all the roads leading to it. But then you could argue about the Phallic symbol rising tall in the heavens in the center....
