I'm going to read fantasy.

Seriously, I'm a fan of the genre without ever really having read that much of its authors and their worlds so many here know by heart or have re-read a few times.

So I'm going to read the first books of fantasy author's I've never read before and throw up my thoughts on a blog.

I will be reading:
Throne of the Crescent Moon - Saladin Ahmed
The Painted Man - Peter V.Brett
Prince of Thorns - Mark Lawrence (okay I've read Prince of Fools but that's his new series..)
The Magician's Guild - Trudi Canavan
House of Shattered Wings - Alliette De Bodard
Assassin's Apprentice/Royal Asssassin- Robin Hobb (okay I've also already read AA last year but I'm counting the next one among this)
The Emperor's Soul - Brandon Sanderson (I was advised by @Raptori I think it was to start here with this author as I'm a Sanderson virgin and was informed Elantris was a bit here and there)
Gardens of the Moon - Steven Erikson
Way of Shadows - Brent Weeks

And that's enough to be going on with I think as I've got plenty of other non-fantasy to read. Any suggestions appreciated too. :)

Note: I will read this popular book series called 'Harry Potter' at some point...

Switch out Way of Shadows with The Black Prism. It's a better introduction to Brent Weeks. The majority of his fans agree from what I have seen.
Way of Shadows is still awesome though.

I agree too, but please note that Lightbringer 4 (the last) only gets published by year end.

Not going to trouble me I'm only reading the first in the series for now! :P

I'm a slower reader than I'd like to be.

It's no good pretending I could read what I have before buying more - just won't happen. :-[

Ha, well I already bought a new book so....

In my defense though, it's a sequel to the book I'm reading now.  :P
The bones of beasts and the bones of kings
Become dust in the wake of the hymn
Mighty kingdoms rise, but they all will fall
No more than a breath on the wind
