Harry Dresden vs Lord Voldermort

Reading Harry Potter recently got me thinking. Who would win in a straight up fight (with preparations), between Harry Dresden and Lord Voldermort? Harry seemed to have more battle oriented magic on his hands in addition to his gun and other magic amulets. I personally think Harry would've blasted Lord Voldermort and his Death Eaters into the nether, hahah.

Lord Voldemort because I think the Harry Dresden books are overrated. No critical thinking found in this vote. ;D

Dunno about a straight-up fight - I've only read a couple of the Dresden books but Harry strikes me as the sort to win because preparations can include ensuring it isn't a straight-up fight...

I picked Harry, because I do like the character, and because if he can prepare then that means he can fight dirty, and he does that well. I think Voldemort’s natural arrogance and confidence in his own superiority would prove to be his downfall against a scrapper like Dresden.

Bit of a hard one to call as I think the most neutral ruling on how their magic interacts is neither has an effective attack again the others' main weapon. There is no counter to the Death spell barring the weird corner cases Dresden doesn't have; however, I never saw an effective shield again angellic fire or a bullet to the face either. This is basically rocket tag and whoever is 'it' first is dead.

I'm inclined to give the edge to Moldy Voldy as bullets and fire aren't as instantly lethal and because he's a bigger heavyweight in his own setting. Now, Eberneezer 'The Geezer' McCoy on the other hand...

Oh so you remember, wonder in which anthology the story was in. Quite a random pick to put in an anthology.

I think it might have been Dangerous women, edited by George RR Martin. It was a library book, so I can't check - but I only have 3 anthologies in my collection and it's not on the other 2, so it must be that, yes

Dangerous Women the Dresden short was called Bombshells, I believe. I only enjoyed the Sanderson and Abercrombie shorts in there, but there were a lot that seemed to be from the middle of series.

I'd say Dresden has the upper hand, because he always seems to come out on top, while most villains are set up to fail. Narrative trumps logic.  ;)

I'd go with Dresden, but mostly because Voldemort was a complete failure as anything in those books... like literally stupidest villain award to him.

Kallor shrugged. 'I've walked this land when the T'lan Imass were but children. I've commanded armies a hundred thousand strong. I've spread the fire of my wrath across entire continents, and sat alone upon tall thrones. Do you grasp the meaning of this?'

'Yes' said Caladan Brood. 'You never learn'

Voldemort, since he has horcruxes and will come back multiple times.

Dresden is overrated till now (and we have not seen him at peak). Apart from 1 Walker he killed during his childhood, he has lackeys to support him...just that there are loads more deathwalkers than Dreden lackeys.

For some more Harry Dresden and Harry Potter crossover you can search for Harry Potter x Dresden Files on google. I finally figured out what to read while in quarantine now.  8)
