Weird Question maybe. But which Fantasy groups do you most enjoy reading about? Did the Aes Sedai tickle your fancy, or are you heavily invested in whether you're Gryffindor or Slytherin, or are you all about that Night's Watch?

Just off the top of my head I say the Bridgeburners (Malazan), the Copper Cat Three (Jen Williams' first trilogy) and Locke Lamora+team (there are 2 more, aren't there? Jean and the other? or am I very very wrong?).
The Night's Watch (ASoIaF), on a close second, just certain aspects of the group.

I exclude school groups (and so everything Harry Potter), and even though Jorg goes around with a group in the Broken Empire trilogy, he's very much his own person and a leader, rather than just a member of the group.

Yeah it was fun reading the Aes Sedai... man the more I think about Eladia, today's politics uhhh... okay wrong thread. But the Forsaken were probably the most fun to read.

I really liked reading about Locke's crew too!  Thieves can be very fun.

You can't refer to my favorite crew members ever (Calo, Galdo, and Bug)  like they're just complements!  :P My love for the series
Spoiler for Hiden:
totally plummeted after their death, and the team dynamics just totally vanished, seriously
. The Gentlemen Bastards is totally one of my favorite teams ever and well, that happened...

Note from ScarletBea: I included spoiler tags to protect those that haven't read it yet :) And sorry, I've read it a long time ago :-[

And you really have to include Father Chains in that GB crew as well.

The Fellowship of the Ring. No competition, really. Though they were never a group for very long, were they?

I always liked the dwarves and Bilbo as a group of adventurers, and if we’re going old school there’s Robin Hood’s Merry Men and Arthur’s Knights of the Round Table.
I will expand your TBR pile.

Now I consider it, Tolkien's groups were a bit dysfunctional, weren't they?

Adding to the older stuff: don't forget Charlemagne's paladins.

It's SF, not fantasy, but I'm really enjoying the crew of the Rocinante (Comey's Expanse series).

Darien Frey’s crew in Wooding’s Tales of the Ketty Jay are a fun bunch.

If we're going mythic, I'd put Fionn Mac Cool and the Fianna above Arthur. Very fun range of personalities.

Oh yes, the Fianna were good value.

I have a (probably unreasonable) prejudice against bands of rogues. It feels too easy. That's one reason why I find the crew of the Rocinante to be more interesting. There's more drama in a group of good (or middling) folk trying to make good choices in a world filled with bad ones. It's easy to write about the burglar. It's harder to write about the Average Joe whom the burglar robs.
