I'm the vein of another thread floating around today, I'm wondering what your favorite fantasy series are? (No need to put a number on how many you enjoy; just go for it!)

My favorites:
(To everyone's dismay) Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind
(Probably, again, to everyone's dismay) Black Jewels by Anne Bishop
Kingmaker, Kingbreaker by Karen Miller
Demon Cycle by Peter V. Brett

No particular order again but . . .
A Song of Ice and Fire
Discworld
The Sandman
Realm of the Elderlings   
And whatever Abercrombie calls his series
Oh and The Wheel of Time.

My top 5 favourite books/series, in general are:

1] The Black Magician Trilliogy By Trudi Canavan.
2] The Kingkiller Chronicles By Patric Rothfuss.
3] The Chronicles of the Necromancer/The Fallen Kings Cycle [Same series, differen't 'seasons' as it were.] By Gail. Z. Martin.
* 4] This one isn't a fantasy novel, though it isn't really mainstream either: Battle Royale by Koushun Takami.
5] The Stormlight Archive By Brandon Sanderson. [Manage to change my top five for the first time in a while.]

Two which have previously been in my top five:

The Inheritance Cycle By Christopher Paolini. <----- The last one is finally being released. I remember being quite young when I read the first one. Lol.
The Jaz Parks Series By Jenifer Rardin. R.I.P.

China Mieville's Bas-Lag books
Tad Williams' Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn
The Earthsea books
David Eddings' Belgariad and Mallorean.

Dune - Herbert Snr, not Jr.

The Troy books by Gemmel was pretty ok as well, but not favourites.

And, in my younger days. I've outgrown them, but they deserve at least a mention

A song of ice and fire
Malazan book of the fallen (still reading the series but its up there)
Stormlight archive (yes i know it only has one book so far but it is fantastic and is going to be epic)
Empire Trilogy (Feist and Wurts)
Belgariad (purely for nostalgia as it was one of the first fantasy series i read)
Dresden Files (I'm still new to it but the series is becoming a favourite of mine)

My rule was that there had to be at least three books so far in the series, so no Demon Cycle, Stormlight or Kingkiller for me.

More is not always better. Rothfuss's story went nowhere, and novellas aren't part of the series as such are they?
