And the Mat rape scene. Just so wrong!

What is this?
The scene where Mat is raped by Tulin(?), Ebou Dar's Queen.
You know, rape is funny when it happens to men...

I think its the scene where Elayne laughs about it afterwards that really deserves the plaudits. There's a lot of talk about how fantasy's got darker and with good reason, but I can't think of too many grimdark books where one protagonist laughs at the rape of a friend...

That's seduction, not rape. Mat is not reluctant at all. He just has some concerns. Mats only problem was that he didn't do the chasing. No way that's rape.

He was bound, really uncomfortable in the situation and wasn't given a choice.
Don't ever try to seduce me.

A good two thirds of the way listening to book 1. I’m really enjoying re-visiting WofT. Many things more things to like than I’d remembered, including foreshadowing of things that happen in later books; and which I’d experienced at the time as “Huh?!” but now see we’re planned for all along.

Meanwhile, still a number of things that don’t do it for me, including getting so many specially powered characters from one tiny village. But I guess the wheel weaves where the wheel will.  8)
