Add The Book with No Name, by Anonymous. There aren't adequate words in the English language to describe how much that book sucked. It sucks so hard, I've had to remove it from my bookshelves because it was warping the light in that part of the living room and I couldn't see the shelves properly. It's gone into a storage box, but individually wrapped, just in case the suckitude is contagious.

Ha! That bad huh?  You gave me a good laugh with your description on how you must protect your other books, and environment from such horrors of reading.  Why not given it away instead of storing?

I have not read a truly horrible book in a long awhile, at least not one where I would be certain that another soul would think the same as me.

Because if I give the book away, that means I've inflicted it on another human being. I just couldn't live with the guilt. Besides; if I'm ever feeling a bit fragile about my own attempts at writing, I can carefully lift that book out, look at a few pages and tell myself "You'll never be that bad, keep trying.". Then, you know, pour iodine into my ears to try and disinfect my brain. The last thing I want is to remember it too clearly. ;)
I am NOT short. I'm further away than I look.

Good reason.  :D  I will admit almost asking, why not throw it away? But the thought of throwing a book away makes me cringe horribly.

I'm up for this was of those who liked 'Left Hand of God' vs those who dis-liked 'Left Hand of God'

Here is my attack;

I got to the part where the young boy was running and hiding, then running again... then hiding again... oh... then he ran again... then he hid again. They introduced some girls that was completely unexpected and didn't seem to fit... I think from there he ran a bit more and hid a bit more... - Then I yawned and put the book down ;)

All this Left hand of God comments make me want to read it ... it can’t be as bad as your all making out can it? Can it?
According to some,* heroic deaths are admirable things

I saw the title of the thread and all I could think of was that "people are going to be offended (who knows maybe me too) in 3 2 1..."

Someone much earlier mentioned 'The Amber Spyglass'. That's up there as one of my least favourite books of all time. I still quite like Pullman's newer stuff though.

Yes it is :P
Or if that first one in the trilogy isn't "awful, throw it away", the second and third definitely are.
Yesterday I actually entered into a conversation/discussion with the employee at Waterstone's about it, when I told him to remove that book from "face forward" on the shelf! I told him that it wasn't even the plot ot the story (when he mentioned freedom of choice), it was the quality of writing, which was really pisspoor!

I love that book ;D

But see, I totally accept Nevee's opinion, but I refuse to accept someone telling me that the Left Hand of God is anywhere near good, hehe
