It's been nagging at me someone missing here and Elfy just reminded me of my top favourite Rogue. Silk is a  Grand Master Rogue. 8)

Who is Silk and which series is s/he from?

Silk wasn’t added because he wasn’t recommend in any thieves thread here  on F-F that I could find, people who love Silk need to shout about this character more to let others love Silk as much as you do if you keep quiet no one will find out about Silk. Next time someone wants a rogue story recommend your favourite Rogues as you have done here ????

Silk is from Eddings' Belgariad, and yes, I agree he deserves a look-in. One of my first and favourites.

I vote for Shev or Bug or maybe Wichteg but she is possibly the most unlovable rogue

Shev is a Joe Abercrobmie minor character from several stories.

Bug is the youngest gentleman bastard and dies heroically in Lies of locke Lamora

Whichteg is the Kleptomaniac from Beyond Redemption.

I voted Royce, Han and Jalan - and wanted to vote @Nighteyes  ;D

I don't know who Jimmy is...
Jimmy was a young thief who made his first appearance in Silverthorn (the sequel to Magician or the second book in the Riftwar trilogy). He continued to pop up throughout the Midkemia books, eventually as Peat says becoming a rather grandfatherly statesman.
It is a little surprising that Silk didn't make the cut, but we can't put everyone in there. One of my favourites as a kid, and I think he embodied the very spirit of rogue was Panamon Creel from The Sword of Shannara. Yes, most of the book was a rip off of LotR, but Panamon and his companion Keltset could have come right out of Star Wars, there was a big Han Solo and Chewbacca vibe to them, however Brooks and Lucas were working on their own projects at the same time and to the best of my knowledge their paths never crossed.

Its a fairly classic pairing - big guy and cunning guy. Maybe they're both homages to Fahfrd and the Grey Mouser, or maybe it goes back to Thor and Loki. Silk and Barak, Croup and Vandermar, now Locke and Jean... and so on.

Han Solo is a first choice. I haven't read The Red Queen's War or the Gentlemen Bastard series, but I've got a good feeling about Prince Jalan and Locke Lamora. (They are just the next series on my TBR list, can't wait to get to them!)

P. S. I absolutely love these poll topics @Eclipse  :D

I think I liked Keltset's backstory and how it came out gradually because he was a mute and it reminded me of Chewie in that way because the only person that seems to know Chewies story is Han.
The list is lacking in WoT characters. Surely Mat Cauthon or Thom Merrilin would qualify and I also think Jen William's Copper Cat Wydrin is a damn fine rogue.
I will expand your TBR pile.

I’m sorry if your favourites are not there. I based the list on previous recommendations Rogue topics in  the f-f forum. But at least now there have been recommended in this topic.

I went for Han (still haven't recovered from TFA), Locke (there's a surprise) and Tass (kenders have the best names), but surprised that Jimmy the Hand hasn't got a vote.

Jimmy is getting my vote once I figure who else to vote for. By far my favourite there - probably because you get to see his evolution from cocky teenage street urchin to a grandfather with a strange mix of compassion and ruthless Machiavellian focus. Duke James is possibly one of the most underused characters in fantasy.

But not sure who else I'd add. Possibly a write in for Silk from the Belgariad.
I love(d) Jimmy/James. Such a great character. Characters growing up and old was/is definitely one of Feist's strengths.

I voted for him, Royce and Locke. Kvothe isn't a rogue in my eyes.

Ugggh  I accidentally pushed submit before I saw Nighteyes at the bottom!!!

Han is great and all, but how the hell is he winning on here???

I went for Locke because he's pretty much as roguish as it gets, isn't he?  Then i pushed submit, squandering my two other votes. :(

Tasslehoff is beyond adorable of course, and Gurgi!  I forgot about Gurgi!!! But I didn't want to overtake Locke so i didn't give him a vote.  If @Henry Dale 's Henry the Jack was on the list, I would have voted for him tho :)

I'm really surprised Mat Cauthon from WoT isn't on the list. A case could be made for Arya Stark possibly, if not Jaqen H'ghar aren't on the list. (Terry Prachett's Lu-Tze would be a nice addition too)

I didn't vote for Kvothe or Han Solo or Conan because I probably wouldn't have put them on the list at all in the first place. For Han if we're gonna go movie rogues the list could get really long and it feels weird to pit him against book characters. Gurgi, is a little questionable too, tbh.

I thought Gurgi was questionable, too, although he is in the book. Master Li from Barry Hughart's Master Li and Number Ten Ox Chronicles is the classic rogue.
