Always good to have another site for fantasy. The Assistant editor of f-f is setting it up.

Seems a bit under-handed, to be honest... :-\
So she, as far as I know, 'raises to fame' through Fantasy Faction, and then goes and sets up a competing site? Even moving some of the regular FF features (the Tough Travel thing - I read it was going to 'fantasy hive' but I didn't know what that was)?
I'll stay here.

As for what Bea said... I did think that a little bit myself. But then how many companies and websites are founded by people learning their craft at one place and striking out themselves?

Laura M Hughes has been a writer for Tor.com for ages as well as contributing and is well known on their website. She is excellent at promoting and discussing Fantasy on Twitter @HalfStrungHarp, her posting is lively and fun and gives writers exposure all the time.

She has written a novelette, Danse Macabre, and is very active in the UK Fantasy community as well as writing many articles for FF.  Will be very interesting to see how the hive turns out, I expect it will be popular as she has a ready made following, but also there is always a point of saturation, so who knows?

Many belong to more than one fantasy group, especially writers who need all the publicity they can get.

So will we all be going over there instead of* F-F to get our fantasy fix ? always good to have another site for fantasy. The Assistant editor of f-f is setting it up.

* Meant to add, it needn't be instead of, can always be as well as. ;D

I will give it a chance but I’ve  got a feeling it will be very  duplicatey so I hope it will be a bit different to what we have now.

You guys are my reason.  :-*

Well, Tough Traveling was not a Fantasy Faction original, it was another bloggers meme that ran for a while, died out, was resurrected with the main post being hosted on Fantasy Faction.

Sorry, I didn't mean to 'attack' her - as I said, i only know her from here. It was just my immediate reaction,

I didn’t take it as an attack, just an honest reaction. And I mentioned Tough Traveling mainly because I participated for a couple of years before it was hosted on FF, and so never really associated it strongly with FF because of that.

I'll almost certainly visit this Hive for the articles, but I doubt I'll engage in a community there. I have much the same relationship with Tor.com. One forum is more than enough to keep me busy.

Jmack  works with my wife's cousin, so he's practically family. So I'll just follow him, because connections can't be annoying without commitment and dedication.
