Either I'm blind or lazy but I couldn't see a post on here just for Brandon Sanderson, there are two devoted to two of his signings but thats not the same thing. To be honest I don't really have anything that important to say. Just some exciting news that I needed to post somewhere and on discovering this flaw within the Fantasy Authors Discussion section I felt the need to also correct this.

Anyway, just checked Sanderson's sight and saw that under current projects he's put up Stormlight 2, its at 0% but still, Yay!

Apparently he's got a 36 book series planned  :o. The 6 that he's written that aren't Wot novels are part of it. The man is a writing machine.

The man is actually an AI.  (we have discussed before haven't we?  I remember someone posting that George RR Martin had been locked in a basement with a bowl of chicken wings while Sanderson finished ADWD for him.)

I don't believe that we've discussed this before, hound, but Sanderson being an AI would explain the extraordinary level of output, plus he somehow fits in coaching the Adelaide Crows Aussie Rules football club in too.  :D

It also begs the (somewhat macabre) question - if Sanderson passes away 34 books in, who finishes his mega-meta-magnum opus?

That would be a challenge. Especially considering that unlike Jordan, Sanderson is not much for note taking, oh obviously he keeps notes but apparently a lot of it is lodge right up inside that big ol' brain of his. He supposedly never forgets an idea once its down. This then is proof, Brandon Sanderson is indeed an AI.

We should keep a backup of the Brandonbot, just in case...

Up until not long before Robert Jordan was diagnosed with the disease that ultimately took his life he wasn't much of a note taker either. He only started to make detailed notes for how the series would finish up when he started to wonder if could actually complete it himself.

Seriously, how does he do it?

http://aidanmoher.com/blog/2012/04/asides/cover-art-and-synopsis-for-the-emperors-soul-by-brandon-sanderson/

Is it cos he is a Mormon so doesn't waste time on frivolousness and boozing? (and I am kinda being halfway serious with that last point.)

I'd have to agree, still, how's he manage to fit all that writing time in and still have time to go door to door spreading the good news?

He's a flipping genius thats how.

Hello friends,

This is my first post. I came here after seeing the interview with Brandon Sanderson on Youtube.

So, I've obviously read Mistborn, and I got through Warbreaker yesterday, but what's all this Cosmere stuff I keep hearing about? Is it canon or just a fan-theory?

Its not a theory no. All of Brandon Sanderson's books, apart from the Alcatraz books, are set within the same universe which Sanderson refers to as the Cosmere. There are around 35 books within something like 7 series planned set within the Cosmere and set on different worlds and in the last series which I guess will be Dragonsteel, there is to be a kind of conclusion to the whole thing. Its dificult to explain without giving away spoilers. I would suggest you read The Way of Kings as that is the one book that has given any clues as to the larger picture that connects everything. I would also suggest you check out:

and

Hope this was helpfull.
