He did guns already, otherwise that'd be an essential part of getting more "modern".

I'd like to see a new wizard too. Unseen Academicals was a bit weak...
Or maybe a cousin of Leonard da Quirm inventing something like a car?  :D

A new character? Be great if it was a semi standalone like Pyramids.

Or, IIRC, Moving Pictures.

I'm really happy/sad that his Daughter won't be writing the series when Sir Terry stops, I'm (much like a few others) definitely in two minds about it, I don't want the Discworld to come to an end. I've made it my home for the past 12 years and as much as I love rereading them, Its not the same as reading it for the first time, and what if someone takes over and it doesn't work, would it ruin the world for me? Taint it somehow? I don't know. So relieved, but also sad.

I don't mind stand-alone's, but I *really* want a return to the older characters, the Witches or Death ideally, though I like the Wizards too
I think there's been enough Vimes in the most recent books, its time to catch up with some old friends (so to speak) before introducing new ones.

That's a fantastic shout! I can see the Ankh seeping (or falling, depending on your interpretation of the word) into the tunnels some how....

To be honest, so long as it isn't another Vimes book, I'll be happy. I like vimes I really do, but If its another Vimes book I don't know if I'll be overly bothered. There've been what seems like and endless stream of Watch books. Time to revisit old characters, or maybe some new ones!! :)

I reckon we can be fairly sure (from interviews) that this will be either Moist or a set of new characters. But likely - both.  :)

He's been talking about doing another Moist for a while, so I think that's what this will be. It may be Discworld's first foray into the steampunk genre.

Well, more than likely a cheeky send-up of Steampunk anyway.  ;)
