Memories of Ice Prologue
« on: February 20, 2014, 06:41:51 PM »
wow a lot of things happened in the prologue  :)

Why are the Imass committing Genocide against the Jaghut's? I've forgotten

A Red Welted Warren which has stopped bleeding, are warrens creatures/beasts?

The Jaghut children have entered this damaged warren and have now let out something powerful in exchange that the Imass are scared off

ooh T'oolan sister

A foreign God has escaped from the Chaos Realm

An ancient  white fur beast which regards the Elder Gods as young  :)

Kallor what a bastard I know there were hints about this in the earlier books but seeing it when it was first done....Incinerated an entire continent out of spite

"There left Kallor upon his Throne, Upon its  heap of bones" Brilliant line

Just went to check if you yourself wrote it. ;) No, I don't know him (and won't read the review because I'm about to start with the book itself) - I don't think he's a forumite.

Expect a not off-topic post from me here tomorrow. :)

hundreds of thousands of years in the past and still relevant to the story. Oh my...

Because they are bastards. Or fear the power of the Jaghut? Or are too human for their own good? :P

It's the same as with the warren where they found the Silanda in Deadhouse Gates and the T'Lan Imass took a head of one of the Tiste to seal it.

Another God? If the warren is not one of the Jaghut (Omtose) or the T'Lan Imass (Tellann)...

ooh T'oolan sister
So she's the only T'lan Imass who didn't become immortal?

escaped/lured to die or to get crippled. I guess he's not amused.

The god or the god's companion?

Yeah. And he's second in command to Caladan Brood. That puts some things into perspective...

I'm now familiarised enough with Malazan not to worry when I don't really understand the beginning of the books ::) ;D

I'm now reading book 2 (inside MoI), and finally understood the prologue a bit better (with a few 'ah!' moments that had actually passed me by before...)
