Fantasy Book Club Starts January
« on: December 14, 2010, 11:48:23 AM »
A new forum is always hard... but give us a few months and we hope this place will have a few members :)

Starting January we are going to be holding a monthly 'book club' where we will take suggestions for fantasy books and then as a community pick one to read together as a unit and meet back at the end of the month to review it.

If you would be interested in this, please sign up to the forum and just let us know of your interest and I will send you a PM once we get this up and running :)

Hey Mistry!

Hahahaha, Yes I agree but it lets people read books in-between as well :) Not everyone reads at the same speed so I thought a month would be fair :)

How many books to you read a year out of interest?

The Kindle is great, I already have a whole load of books on it.  Not all the fantasy books are available as kindle versions yet, though I think Amazon are gradually bringing them out.  I bought a couple of paperbacks in Waterstones yesterday as they had a 3 for 2 offer on.   ::)

oooooh, a Sony Reader owner - why did you choose one of those over the kindle? I'm not sure which I want yet! :D

I got the kindle as at the time of my birthday amazon had a wider book selection, the sony is tied into waterstones I think.  plus the kindle can play music and takes pdf files too.  oh, and it's cheaper than the sony.

I had a look at the sony in waterstones yesterday and I think the kindle screen looks nicer to read.  although that may differ with different eye sight I guess.

I'm tempted to have a choice of two books each month (just in case someone has read one of them)

What do you think?

We could maybe have a poll at the beginning of each month with around 10 books, each person votes and at the end of the month you get to pick out of the two which have the most votes? :)
