Book Club for October?
« on: August 24, 2015, 01:09:00 AM »
Just thought I would feel out interest for book club for October, and also let it be known that I don't think I'll have the time to run it that month. So, is anyone interested in participating? And if no one steps up to organize, maybe whoever nominated the winning book could kick off the discussions? Any other ideas/suggestions?

I think there is interest out there Arry, As the Shattered Sands read along is doing ok also we got the author who we can ask questions too in the Q and A topic which is really fun to read.it might be good if we could get the author of the book picked for the book club to come over

I'm interested in participating in the book club in October! Not sure I would have time to run it completely by myself, but I'd be happy to help  :)

We have invited authors to do Q&As in the past and I loved it when they were willing and able to spend time answering our questions. But I have to admit that with the current participation, unless the author is already a member of the forum, I would hesitate to request that of them. I feel like it is a lot to ask of an author to come and answer questions from potentially only 2 or 3 people. Maybe that is a mistake on my part, but I would hate for an author to feel bad if their book was not getting much discussion or generating much activity in the way of a Q&A.

I think Terry Pratchett - Nation and Neil Gaiman - The Ocean at the End of the Lane would make splendid book club reads if there's some interest.
