Can I second A Tale For the Time Being:)

Yes, please!! That one sounded really good to me! :)

It is wonderful.  Definitely 'speculative' rather than fantasy - but a really amazing novel about Japan, about being a teenage girl, and quite 'meta' as it comments on what narrative is, and how much control we have over our destinies, and how much control we have as readers over the stories we read.

Have we never done Zoo City? If not seconded. Great book.

I've opened the poll. Please note, everyone has 3 votes to start and I will reduce this number in several days (and pair down the list). Please be sure to vote early before the cut and also to come back to update your vote afterwards!

Thanks!

Don't forget to vote :) I was hoping to narrow this down today or tomorrow, but only 3 people have voted so far  :'(

I'm going to narrow this down tomorrow. Please vote by then, and be sure to come back and vote for the run off :) I'll add a couple days to the poll when I narrow it down.

Runoff between The Magicians and Zoo City! I've read and really enjoyed both of these and look forward to seeing what people pick! I think they've both been in the running numerous times before, so will be nice to see one of them finally win :)

The Magicians it is! Please let us know if you can join us:

And apologies, I need to clarify this will be our MAY book. I forgot to update the month on it when we slid Pratchett forward after our original April book was no longer available in the US.
