Hope a few of you enjoy :)
I really liked it! Very nice. It's a tight space to maneuver in, but you got us there and brought it to a satisfying close quite smoothly.

Thanks Gem! That was the difficult part - the tight space of limited word counts with such an involved topic.

I had to cut out about 50% of my middle to make it flow correctly, which was a painful process because I liked a lot of it (ie: explaining the goal and particulars of Dr. Winston's time travels). Maybe it can be elaborated on in future writings, but I liked the overall idea of the present (Thomas) inserting itself into the past and the people becoming major players in history. Like some sort of predetermined destiny or fate or whatever else have you... but time travel is a fickle thing, and can so easily be picked apart that I usually steer clear. Still, this was very fun :)

Yes, agree - I didn't think people would have so much trouble with alternate history, which I love to read!!!

Re-wrote the first third of mine this morning.
Which doesn't help much, since that was the part already working OK.

I'll make the deadline!
(Even if the story is crap; though I will work to avoid that.  :P)

To be fair, there's a huge difference between time-travel alt-history as a theme and having a specific year to target! One has a ton of potential, the other is very restrictive.
I wish the world was flat like the old days, then I could travel just by folding a map.

Yeah, this is pretty much why I have been uninspired for a story this month. I would have loved to write some alt-history, but 1750 just isn't an appealing time period to me. I thought of using another calendar, but that may have appeared a bit like cheating, so I'm giving this month a pass. 1750 is too constrictive a theme for me to enjoy  :-\

I'm weighed down by University work at the moment. But I have entered every month since May, and I will not fail this month.

I haven't been working on mine much these last few days as this year Thanksgiving is at my house so my spare time has been consumed by cleaning and prep work. And during the free time I do have I've been more in the mood to read than write.

I'll also be passing this month me thinks. Had a good idea, but not motivated to write it.

Yeah well, don't throw rocks at people just yet @Lanko. How many words are you into your own story?  :D

~800

Faster than usual, actually!

And it could be just my luck, to submit among the first five, only to have nobody else writing and become the last one again  >:(
