[Sep 2018] - Meetings - Voting Thread
« on: October 06, 2018, 08:40:44 AM »
It's time to vote on the September Writing Contest: "Meetings"

This time we got 8 entries - thanks to all who participated.

Please read through all of the entries in the submission thread and place your votes for your two favourite entries in this thread. You won't be able to see the vote breakdown until the vote closes, so spread the word for others to come and vote! We do ask that if you entered, to vote for someone else.

The key for the numbers of votes is this: 1-5 entries: 1 vote, 5-10 entries: 2 votes, 11-15 entries: 3 votes, 16-19: 4 votes, 20-25: 5 votes, 26+: 6 votes

Remember that the winning entry will be posted on the main Fantasy-Faction site in a few months.

Good luck to all our entrants and thank you for taking the time to read the stories and vote! :)

Wow. A few great stories in there. I certainly enjoyed one of them the most but then a few strong contenders for my second choice, had to reread over a few before making my final decision but got there. Another vote or two would've helped lol. Nice reads  :)

really wonderful entries, it was very hard to vote but I think that I am not the only one who faced this hard decision.

Voted! Only two choices tho! A difficult decision this month.

Voted! I liked that the meeting setting has led to a rich spread of characters - Ents, Centaurs and even monkeys. Hard to narrow it down to just two. Well done everyone!

I've got 3 stories I really want to vote for: how can I choose which one to remove?

Edit: in the end, I chose, but could as easily have voted for the other one too...

Voted.  :D  Enjoyed being the secret observer at all of those meetings. Good theme.

One story currently in the lead, then 3 stories tied for second place: it just reflects my dilemma in voting too, hehe

Congratulations, @OnlyOneHighlander! That’s a thorough win.  ;D
And a fun, clever story.
I used only one vote, for @Jake Baelish’ s “Ruby Gauntlet.” I liked the cast of characters and the twisty plot.

And thank you to the folks who liked my peaceful story. It’s a bit too much the beginning of something longer, rather than a stand alone piece, but Marya has been in my head for many years and it was great to finally take her out for a spin.

Yay, congrats @OnlyOneHighlander!
I really loved your story, and voted for you and @JMack.

I could easily also have voted for @Carter, I really enjoyed your story too!

One comment for those who didn't have any votes: your ideas were quite good, but I just feel you need some experience. Continue writing, read other short stories and check tips and tricks. We all need to start somewhere :)
