It's time to vote on September's Writing Contest: Politics, Scheming and Intrigue!

We got 18 entries this month!

Thanks to all of you for participating! It's really great to see the resonance of our contests.

Please read through all of the entries in the submission thread and place your votes for your four favourite entries in this thread. You won't be able to see the vote breakdown until the vote closes, so spread the word for others to come and vote! We do ask that if you entered, to vote for someone else.

The key for the numbers of votes is this: 1-5 entries: 1 vote, 5-10 entries: 2 votes, 11-15 entries: 3 votes, 16-19: 4 votes, 20-25: 5 votes, 26+: 6 votes

Remember that the winning entry will be posted on the main Fantasy-Faction site in a few months.

Or have you been reading as they get posted? I always wait until the thread is closed, because the writer might still go and change something in their story.

Yeah, fairly common. Most of the time for us it's just editing out any errors that we spot, but we've changed more important things a couple of times iirc.

Yeah, I usually read the first half as they're introduced, around up to when mine is posted. (Mine's always usually around the middle for some strange reason.)

As it says, I changed mine like a day or two later, but I do know some people tweak there's as time goes by. That's why I wait till the voting thread goes up to really get a sense of which one I want to vote for.

I read as they were posted, then had a binge read of them all just before voting. I'm glad I did too, as it made me change my original top four slightly.

Ooops I've just noticed that this time I set the vote to end at 8pm UK time on the 31st, which means middle of the day for our US mates - then again, in the afternoon/evening of the 31st you'll all be out trick or treating, so you wouldn't be voting then anyway, right?

As long as we get some warning, thirty days was enough to read and vote in September, it can be enough to read and vote in October too.

Perhaps a bonus Halloween contest?  Twenty-four hours from the announcement of the topic to the closing of entries?

I can't change it - if I click 'edit poll' it just lets me change the voting list can you change the day?

I finally got around to re-read my own story this month. It's horrible how butchered it is! 
I'll start reading the others and get the voting out of the way.
