Voted.

A nice batch of stories here, and I had real difficulty narrowing down a favourite.

I'll give you the weekend to read and vote - I'll publish the results around 6-7pm on Sunday, ok?

So far 10 people have votes and we've got a tie for first place :D

I can say that a person voted in the meantime and did it ;) but who knows who might vote next, and tie them again? 8)

You have no idea how frustrating  this is being at 9.00am on Monday, coming to check here and realizing  you are still only at noon in UK and having to wait another 6-7 hours to see results.  ::)  Good luck everyone  ;D

Sorry, Xia wanted to vote and I said I'd wait - now I'm at work and can only prepare stuff at lunch time

ScarletBea, just me being impatient and I didn't even have a story in there. Appreciate what you and Xia do, and he has even less time to read now. ;)

Here are the results!

The Forbidden - Bradley Darewood --> 8
First Contact - The Gem Cutter --> 7
The Orchetype - Jmack --> 3
Against The Lightning - Alex Hormann --> 2
Exhumation - Carter --> 2
Fallen City - bdcharles --> 1
So many worlds to conquer - OnlyOneHighlander --> 1

Yay @Bradley Darewood, I believe it's your first win?
I voted for the top 2, but I could easily have voted for Highlander's story too, I really enjoyed that one too.

Congrats on your first win Bradley!
Thank you for your votes everyone, more than I expected by a good way.

Congratulations, @Bradley Darewood so glad you got a story entered, don't stop now. You got my vote gladly, but in spite of the gods' names it didn't click with me until the motto hit me on the head.  ;D

@JMack you have become truly versatile, my other vote went to your cheeky twist and fun story.

I'm still trying to see what "Animus incons ulendo liber" means... I tried splitting the words differently, reading them backwards, even checking if it was latin!
I bet it's something really obvious

Congratulations Bradley!

My first vote went to Gem, so glad he got close. I really liked the confidence of both characters, but especially the wizard; I loved how the story was framed by the image of this withered old man coming and going, juxtaposed with what he does toward the end. Really incredible!
