Fair enough - I'll call Nora's a 'fairy story' then ;)

You could say so, precisely because it's first person, it's like a monologue. The heroin tells you the story of her dealings with fairies and such... Hopefully. I'll try and write it fast so that any discontent from boss Xiagan can be dealt with in time, but I really like how it sounds just now.

Oh, I was going to say that the 'fairy story' actually appealed more to me than a 'fairytale' :) Anyway, since I will only read these stories in about 2 months, I'm pretty sure I'll have forgotten any potential issues by then ;D

Love this subject, makes me want to try and I spent a lot of time trying to think up a story to go with a particular picture I love.  But this old brain is pretty slow. @xiagan please may I post the pic in case it inspires anyone else?

Spoiler for Hiden:
It certainly inspired Freddie Mercury and Queen, my all-time favourites ever.  That is a hint to anyone who likes them as well

Here is a link to the Queen lyrics to help pick out so much in this painting.  If I had made it smaller it is often dark and hard to see everything. You need to use the slider at the bottom to see the full width
I absolutely adore this painting and the song and hope you enjoy it as well ;D

Haven't read Queen's lyrics yet Lady Ty but that's a pretty cool painting. Very busy and pretty dark coloured. Reminds me of Bosch's work in a way.

Just posted my own submission. For once it came flowing out pretty easily, I was pretty excited and proud of my stupid ideas.  ;D
Now time to go and finish to read all the plot twists and vote.

The heroin tells you the story

Now that's a typo to conjure with.  "Once upon a time in the poppy fields..."  sounds like a grimdark contemporary fairy story about drug mules.
