We are definitely getting our actor nationalities way too mixed up!  Could end up as ghastly mix of accents at this rate!

Then we will call it Alexander and get Oliver Stone to direct!

ok if this is being made into a film the cast should be

logan-should not be mickey rourke it should be gerard Buttler of 300 fame. He is in his late 30/early 40 has the build and can carry a film
bayaz-Patrick stewart is a no just because his bald and english? very bad choice although i do agree he should be english but more of a butcher (as he is described in 1st book) so should be Ray Winston.
jezal-he needs to tall and athletic and relatively young so Channing Tatum has few films and aint bad actor.
west- should be sean Bean
Dogman-its a shame sean Bean aint a clone but as he aint i think Paddy Considine or Christian Bale
sand- needs to be similar to west so Robert Carlyle or Giovanni Ribis
Black Dow-nasty piece of work dont really know who could do this maybe vinny jones?
Rudd Threetrees-middle aged well worn and a thinker no other than Liam Neeson
Tul Duru Thunderhead-Kevin Durand very tall stocky dude
quai-skinny dyin lookin dude Paul Mackenzie Crook off the office
ferro-Michelle Rodriguez probably only bird can pull it off

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away

I dunno who you'd cast him as but Sean Harris (he's Michelletto in The Borgias) would be great. He just acts like he'd be right at home in Joe's bleak and morally ambiguous setting.

Ferro- Milla Jovovich

I think she's too pale to play Ferro,  don't forget Ferro is dark-skinned.

Exactly my thought. After all, you don't just pick the incredibly attractive ones, but the ones fit for the part. : )

Oh, and I couldn't help, but notice you casted Sean Bean as Three trees. Doesn't he die? If so, I have to say that that simply spoils it all for the viewer if it's Sean Bean playing it. (Sean Bean dies in every movie/show. )

Oh, I have a blog. http://dullboredom.wordpress.com/

Sean Bean does tend to specialise is dying, but it's really a bit of a myth that he dies in everything. He made his name playing Richard Sharpe, and Sharpe is one of the great survivors.

Did not know that. I think Leonardo DiCaprio should play one of the characters, though. He's really a spectacular actor. He also made his name by playing characters that die. xD

He's improved as he's gotten older and less pretty. I really liked his performance in The Departed.

So this may be a random shot in the dark, but what about Ron Perlman as Threetrees?

I actually like that. He was pretty believable as Conan's Dad in the Jason Momoa version.

I'm not sure about few of your choices....for example John Malkovich- even though he is a great actor- makes me laugh everytime I see him...I think Bayaz should be played by someone like Antony Hopkins or Sean Conery. But they might be too old...but I don't really think soo.

Tom Hardy would be wasted for someone like Frost...Frost is pretty much quiet character and he is very big...Hardy isn't too tall and I think he could play someone like Logen or Black Dow.

Fassbender is really common choice for Glotka on this site....but I would rather see him play West or someone like that. I'm really surprised looking at this no one mentioned Paul Bettany....he looks very similar to this guy from the cover.

My cast would probably be:

Ferro: Michelle Rodriguez (for me this is a must, can't really see anyone else in that role at the moment)

Bayaz: would like to see Anthony Hopkins

Jezal: perhaps someone like Justin Timberlake (that can pull of the naive baby narcissist thing)

Sand dan Glokta: Timothy Spall

Sult: Craig Walsh Wrightson

Tul Duru: Barry Duffield

Queen Terez: Viva Bianca

This is as far as I have gotten at the moment
