Title: [Jun 2016] - Random Wikipedia Article - Voting Thread
Post by: ScarletBea on July 03, 2016, 09:00:51 AM
It's time to vote on June's Writing Contest: Random Wikipedia Article.

We got 12 entries this month, most on the very last days - as usual ;)
Thanks to all of you for participating!

Please read through all of the entries in the submission thread and place your votes for your three favourite entries in this thread. You won't be able to see the vote breakdown until the vote closes, so spread the word for others to come and vote! We do ask that if you entered, to vote for someone else.

The key for the numbers of votes is this: 1-5 entries: 1 vote, 5-10 entries: 2 votes, 11-15 entries: 3 votes, 16-19: 4 votes, 20-25: 5 votes, 26+: 6 votes

Remember that the winning entry will be posted on the main Fantasy-Faction site in a few months.

Good luck to all our entrants and thank you for taking the time to read the stories and vote! :)

Note for @m3mnoch (http://fantasy-faction.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=40419):
When you do the usual summaries, could you also add the title/subject of the wikipedia article, please, since that's one criteria for the judging? Or is that too much trouble?

I'm having so much trouble deciding... each story could be voted for on all different criteria...
Oh well.
I still have 4 to go, let's see what comes up in the end.

Anyone else: read and vote. Please ;D ;D

So far no story has more than two votes, so every vote has a huge impact!

24 hours to go.
I don't think I've ever seen the votes so spread out :o ;D
Title: Re: [Jun 2016] - Random Wikipedia Article - Voting Thread

Perhaps because of the theme we got such random styles and genres and story, so it spreads the taste and stuff. There was two that felt the best for me though, even though I voted for 3.

But even the one I thought was written the best didn't entirely complete the thematic idea personally, as in adapting and developing the wiki article into a fantasy story. It mostly just told the story of the wiki article in a way, which is the challenge but i wanted a bit more :P

I still voted for it cos it deserved it though.

Yeah, I had a few that after reading I thought "they're not really fantasy stories..." but in the end I ignored that criteria ::) (bad Bea)

right?  there were two that really stood out to me, and then three that were on the next tier, so i ended up only using 2 of my 3 votes.

Congratulations @tebakutis (http://fantasy-faction.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=31262), another win :D
Soon you'll be interfering with Jmack and Rukaio's battle ;D

I voted for you, despite thinking it wasn't much fantasy, and also voted for m3mnoch and Rukaio.
But I had lots of question marks in other stories that totally could have got my vote too.

(and wow, lots of changes in the last day for the other stories, many people must have voted hehe)

Several other stories I liked a lot too. Congrats to all that entered for getting them written and submitted!

tebakutis!!  good work, friend!  how many wins is that now?  10?  60?  300?  you're on a tear, man.  you keep pumping out great stuff, so whatever creativity habits you've got going on, keep on it!

i ended up only using two votes -- one for you, and one for aav's excellent gambit.  i didn't use the third because i couldn't decide among about 1/2 the rest of the stories.

Woo hoo! Thank you so much, everyone! I feel like I had an advantage in that the Wikipedia article I got was tailor-made for Drama (TM) but I'm really glad people enjoyed it.

On another note, this is my 1000th post!

I think I'll need to head to the critique thread.  :D

Thanks to all the writers and voters.
