[Jun 2015] - Multiple POVs - Voting Thread
« on: July 01, 2015, 09:38:44 PM »
It's time to vote on June's Writing Contest: Multiple POVs

Until now I thought 17 entries is as high as it gets (especially with it coming three times in a row). And what did you do? 20. Just wow.

Thanks for taking part, all of you. It's awesome to see the growing resonance to our writing contests month after month. :)

Please read through all of the entries in the submission thread and place your votes for your five favorite entries in this thread. You won't be able to see the vote breakdown until the vote closes, so spread the word for others to come and vote! We do ask that if you entered, to vote for someone else.

The key for the numbers of votes is this: 1-5 entries: 1 vote, 5-10 entries: 2 votes, 11-15 entries: 3 votes, 16-19: 4 votes, 20+: 5 votes.

Remember that the winning entry will be posted on the main Fantasy-Faction site in a few months.

Good luck to all our entrants and thank you for taking the time to read the stories and vote! :)

*Complications by Raptori and Saurus.

20 stories is a new record, right? 5 votes seems like a huuuuge number!

No idea where the y came from. And I'd like to see Saurus post one of your stories now and then. :)

Yeah it's quite an impressive typo.  ;D

Good point, I just do it by default - might be a good idea to alternate or something just for the hell of it!  :)

Gonna be some stiff competition this month. 20 entries is a lot.

Better get to reading. :)

Stiff competition indeed. I have some catching up reading to do.

Incidentally, what are the local ethics on voting for oneself? Politicians do it, but this online writer community thing is new to me.
I'll notify your next of kin... that you sucked!

I don't think it should be allowed, never asked though since I just assumed that was the case.  :)

Here's the rule, from the first post in this thread:

Yeah, my general consensus is never to vote for oneself. But if you do, eh. We won't chop your head off.

How does everyone else feel about someone entering the contest but not voting?

I think a minimum of rules is good, so I'm not in favor of any proclamation about it.
But I do think it's sort of rude.

Yeah I wasn't expecting any new rules or anything, just wondered what people thought. I do think it'd be a bit rude, though obviously less so than just voting for yourself would've been!  ;D
