Chapters 1-5, what do you think?

I picked this one up recently and have read to about 30% of the book. So many words I have never heard of before and such a slow pace - even though, I'm intrigued. I feel like it's a slow start to something explosive... but I guess I will have to wait and see.

I can see myself finishing this book and then picking it up again in a couple of years time once I am more fantasy-literate so I can pick up on all the things I (may) have missed. Looks like continuing this series won't be in the near future for me.

Since you are not quite to the break point, I don't know if you read all the previous comments (fear of spoilers). But I will say those were two of my biggest observations with this book. Someone else posted a link to this about the vocabulary words:

How are you liking it?

Unsure, I like the style of writing as I like first person narrative but I'm on page 100 and his still in the citadel talking to the prisoner the plot could move a bit faster for me

Liked the chapter with the dog and also the chapter with the massive library with the head librarian

also when he meet the girl in the courtyard is that in the past like a time slip or I'm I confusing myself

I am still trying to figure out how everything tied in to each other.

There was a lot of the times the scenes were drawn out which gave me the impression that it must be something important... but nothing came from it. A very anti-climatic read.

Did you end up finishing the book? What were your thoughts?

Hi Sabrok, I replied in the other topics as I went along I read the omnibus of  book 1 and book 2 I nearly gave up reading the novel a few times  when reading book 1 but carried on and thought book 2 was much better paced. After reading both I've got no interest in reading any more of the series it wasn't bad but I just want to read faster paced other series
