[Jul 2016] - Story Generator - Voting Thread
« on: August 02, 2016, 08:17:03 AM »
It's time to vote on July's Writing Contest: Story Generator.

We got 13 entries this month, most on the very last days - as usual ;)
Thanks to all of you for participating!

Please read through all of the entries in the submission thread and place your votes for your three favourite entries in this thread. You won't be able to see the vote breakdown until the vote closes, so spread the word for others to come and vote! We do ask that if you entered, to vote for someone else.

The key for the numbers of votes is this: 1-5 entries: 1 vote, 5-10 entries: 2 votes, 11-15 entries: 3 votes, 16-19: 4 votes, 20-25: 5 votes, 26+: 6 votes

Remember that the winning entry will be posted on the main Fantasy-Faction site in a few months.

Good luck to all our entrants and thank you for taking the time to read the stories and vote! :)
At home in the Fantasy Faction forum!

So Lanko's gonna win again with a last minute entry isn't he?  ::)

Also slightly regretting putting two amounts of weird sex in mine...it just comes naturally to me I forget in the cold light of day that other people will read it who might not appreciate a two-headed genderless pirate and leprechaun sex.   :-\

Also voted. So much cake and pirates and thieves. And talking swords. But there were 3 that I clearly enjoyed the most above the others, so I went for them.

I sort of wish more talking swords had regular names, like Tim, or Steve, or Brian.

Hey it was a compliment!  :-*

I leaned towards the funnier ones this month, considering the topic, though yours was something special :P
Though it made me realise I have no understanding of Conan whatsoever, never seen or read any Conan  :-\ - and I've only read bits of Beyond Good and Evil - so idk how much you've read of his stuff.

Haha, thanks!

Also, about your weird sex scene, one of the things that gripped me into Mielville's Perdido Street Station was  a sex scene between a human and a female fly in the beginning. It was just too weird and I had to keep going, so don't bash yourself on that and worry too much about what people will think about X or Y. Who knows what awesome ideas you might throw out?

My votes are in!

And just because, I nominate this sentence from Arcane's story as the quote of the month:

Spoiler for Hiden:
Skip looked over the map and saw a cob-webbed skeleton. “My god! I think that man is dead!”

Awesome entries as always, everyone. Enjoyed the reads!

Nora was moving home I believe, but I'm actually surprised with @Rukaio_Alter absence. And from the comments on the discussion thread, I was also expecting @Raptori, @Saurus, @shadowkat678 and @SJBudd.
