Congrats to the two winners! (I would tag but I'm on an iPad and it's too much effort)

How on earth did ours get that many votes? You're all crazy.  :o

I actually laughed out loud at yours.   Anything that does that will almost always get my vote.

Congratulations Waka and OnlyOnehighlander for top of  so many great stories and to so many ties near the top. Is that a record score board and most entries ever?

Yes and yes!
And see how, with the exception of FanFic, we've gone from 9 stories per month to around 17 and then to 20.
If we start getting even more stories, will we all be able to read them all?!
But I call that a good problem to have.

Month   Topic   Submissions   Voters

Sep   Cliché   9   10
Oct   Abandoned Places   8   9
Nov   Joker   9   12
Dec   Religion   15   16
Jan   SciFi   14   15
Feb   FanFic   9   13
Mar   Rogues   17   24
Apr   Twist!   19   20
May   Fairytales   17   20
Jun   Multiple POVs   20   24
Jul   FlashFic   26   26
Aug   Space Opera   20   ??

Congrats!  So many good stories this time.  500 words didn't seem to hinder the creativity at all.

@Jmack, thanks for that table, it is indeed a good and encouraging problem. ;D  and thank you to all the old regulars who have given such encouragement  and to newer contributors who have joined in and stayed to make the contest such a success. ;D ;D

Congrats guys!!

That was good work this month! I'm surprised to see it's rather funny, given all those doubles, I ended voting only for one of the 2 firsts, one of the 2 seconds, two of the fifth and for @donalddallan

With everything I still reckon that @OnlyOneHighlander and @D_Bates are my two top favourites for their gloomy, dark but beautiful entries that gave a lot of life into the characters in so very few words!

@Doctor_Chill I didn't vote for you, but not out of lack of enjoyment. I found your use of the second person quite daring and actually really well used, and was totally caught in the narration. My only problem was the ending! I didn't understand it. I'm still puzzled by what happens when *I* open the trunk...

I'll also thank all the nice folks who voted for my story, 4th along with @Jmack is a fine position to hold, I'm pleased as peach.

And now waiting feverishly for the theme of September.. Pleaaaase! It's the 2nd for me already! *whine*  :P

Big congratulations to everyone in the contest, especially the two first place winners.

So many great stories, everyone deserves the praise, and you two were on top of the pile with really well deserving stories so soak it in!

Tch. Just one vote short. So very close...

Still, I genuinely wasn't expecting to do as well as I did here because this month was really a very strong one. Probably the strongest we've had since I started. Seriously, there were more than 10 entries here, not including my own, that I could seriously have seen winning (including the two eventual winners). So congrats to everyone!

Haha that's good to hear, never really tried writing anything funny before so we weren't sure it'd work at all.
