[Jul 2015] - Flash Fiction - Voting Thread
« on: August 01, 2015, 09:29:17 PM »
It's time to vote on July's Writing Contest: Flash Fiction!

We got 26 entries and I'm super glad that the word count is 500 words max. ;) If we are going to get this many entries next time with a normal word count, I don't know what to do. ;)

Thanks to all of you for participating! It's super cool to see the resonance to our contests. :)

Please read through all of the entries in the submission thread and place your votes for your six favorite entries in this thread. You won't be able to see the vote breakdown until the vote closes, so spread the word for others to come and vote! We do ask that if you entered, to vote for someone else.

The key for the numbers of votes is this: 1-5 entries: 1 vote, 5-10 entries: 2 votes, 11-15 entries: 3 votes, 16-19: 4 votes, 20-25: 5 votes, 26+: 6 votes

Remember that the winning entry will be posted on the main Fantasy-Faction site in a few months.

Good luck to all our entrants and thank you for taking the time to read the stories and vote! :)

Six votes? Hoo boy this is a first. I think I'll take some time off tonight and read through half (only 13 at 500 a pop). Gonna be some stiff competition this round I bet.

Good luck to all!

Read them all last night, and even with 6 choices, it's still hard to pick  ;D

Such a variety of submissions.

Voted!

A surprising month overall, two of my votes went to complete strangers who barely have 20 posts to their names. It's gonna be an interesting month to critic, as each story is short enough to remember on a single re-read and I have an entire month to put notes down.

Wow, didn't expect to have such a difficult time narrowing it down to six votes. One of them stood out amongst the crowd to me, but there were about eight others that were all very close in my mind.

That said, I enjoyed the majority of them overall. I found it funny that, as a reader I typically enjoy serious, thoughtful pieces that are heavy on meaning and emotion, yet some of the pieces I enjoyed reading the most in these were lighter, easy reads.

Well done everyone.

Cast my votes. As others have said this was a real tough month. So many stories and such a varied lot to choose from. One of those months where absolutely everyone deserves a vote just for having a go.
I will expand your TBR pile.

If I voted now I'd spend... *checks* 28 days waiting for the results. Not good for me, I'm very impatient >:(

So I'll start reading them later in the month, hehe

Just voted and found it difficult to pick 6. The stories were really good and there was a lot of variety between them. Some were clever and others funny. I should get thinking on a space opera now.

11 votes already!

Two stories are in the lead from the beginning on (always with the same post count) but two others got close. Really curious how it will turn out. ;)

It was hard for me to narrow it down to just six and I'm glad we had six votes this time. I shudder at the thought of trying to pick just five instead. Some were definite votes for me, others it took a bit more time to choose.

I should have been like ScarletBea and waited as the waiting will now drive me nuts :P.

Well, I read them all after work today and have cast my votes. Some really imaginative stuff here. Good work, all.

Oddly enough my votes split evenly between serious and more light-hearted works.
I'll notify your next of kin... that you sucked!

this is totally my strategy.  i read through them all.  now, i'm going to percolate.  later in the month, i'll read through them all again.  then, finally vote.

lookit me!  i have a plan!

It's cruel of you to hint at us like that, so early in the month Xiagan! We have over 25 days to wait for the results, it's tough!  :o
