[JAN 2021] - Supernatural Wild West - Voting Thread
« on: February 03, 2021, 03:54:01 PM »
It's time to vote on the January Writing Contest: "Supernatural Wild West"

This time we got just 3 entries - so thanks to all who participated (especially the newbie!)!

Please read through all of the entries in the submission thread and place your votes for your favourite entry in this thread. You won't be able to see the vote breakdown until the vote closes, so spread the word for others to come and vote! We do ask that if you entered, to vote for someone else.

The key for the numbers of votes is this: 1-5 entries: 1 vote, 6-10 entries: 2 votes, 11-15 entries: 3 votes, 16-19: 4 votes, 20-25: 5 votes, 26+: 6 votes

Remember that the winning entry will be posted on the main Fantasy-Faction site in a few months (I'm still hopeful of getting the access to do this...)

Good luck to all our entrants and thank you for taking the time to read the stories and vote! :)

Deadline: Wednesday, February 24th

Oh, wow. This is a lovely surprise! I, too, was impressed by @Alex Hormann poem. (I could never tackle poetry) And JMack put such an original twist on ghost towns. Thank you to all those who read and voted.

@Alex Hormann achieved the impossible and made me vote for a poem :o ;D I really liked that!!
Taking a new look this morning I discovered another thing this made me think of: Nick Cave's "Murder Ballads" album, it totally fits in and I totally can hear Cave singing it ;D

Thanks for the votes. I'm glad someone likes the poetry as it's all I have the time to squeeze out right now.

And I'll definitely have to check out Nick Cave too.

It's interesting to see how opinions vary - I was so certain that JMack's story would win this month, not because the others were bad, but because I thought this story was just really good.

edit: I hope this doesn't come across as negative against the other entries, that's not what I meant. I enjoyed all of them. :)

Hi @Kindly, no worries, we all have our favourites :D

I really liked @JMack's story, but because I know what his best is (or rather, his really great stories, I'm sure the best is yet to come), I felt that this one was a bit "under-developed".

Hi, @deannadilello, yours was such a neat story; it got my vote! @Kindly, thank you kindly for enjoying my story  ;D. Yes, @ScarletBea , it was definitely underdeveloped. It was last minute and complete pantsing. It also became a bit of an homage to one of @Nora ’s recurring characters. @Alex Hormann, I’m with you; so little time. But a really interesting poem.
